摘要： In a wireless communication system comprising at least one access point (AP) and a plurality of stations (STAs), a method for transmission management of the wireless medium comprises the AP configuring a Multiple Receiver Aggregate Multi-Poll/Power Save Aggregation Descriptor (MMP/PSAD) frame with scheduled Uplink Transmission Time (ULT) information for the plurality of STAs. The AP then transmits the MMP/PSAD frame to the plurality of STAs. Upon successfully receiving and decoding the MMP/PSAD frame, STAs transmit during their scheduled ULT.

摘要： A method and apparatus for cooperative relaying in wireless communications is provided. An efficient and simplified relay scheme is disclosed that transitions between different modes on a per packet basis using scheduling information or switching information included in the packet, without requiring link reconfiguration. The cooperative relay scheme benefits further from the use of cooperative relaying protocols that emphasize centralized scheduling. One protocol emphasizes physical layer cooperation via synchronized transmissions and distributed space-time coding and the other protocol emphasizes medium access control (MAC) layer cooperation using different MAC flows or messages.

摘要： A system for regulating packet flow through a switch fabric and a system for verifying the transmission integrity of the fabric. In the first system, an ingress sends packets to the switching entity in a designated order and an egress receives packets from the switching entity, re-orders the packets in the designated order and sends an acknowledgement of receipt of the packets to the ingress upon re-ordering. The ingress receives acknowledgements of receipt of packets from the egress, maintains an indication of a number of packets for which an acknowledgement of receipt has not yet been received, performs a comparison between the number of packets for which an acknowledgement of receipt has not yet been received and a threshold, and regulates sending packets to the switching entity on the basis of the comparison. The principle behind the second system is based on exchanging marker packets at identifiable reference instant.

摘要： Headerless (i.e., zero byte) data packets are sent by a compressor over a radio bearer. The radio bearer includes a synchronized wireless link. A sequential timer-based value is associated with each of the headerless data packets. A decompressor generates a header based on the sequential timer-based value associated with a given received headerless data packet. A data packet having a compressed header is sent periodically over the synchronized wireless link. The data packet having the compressed header can also be sent when the compressor detects changes in slowly-varying header fields, in response to feedback received from the decompressor indicating that a decompression context is out of synchronization and/or just before talk spurts occur.
