Using this phoneme recognition method, an amount of computation can be significantly reduced, and the phoneme in the speech signal can be easily found by calculating probability distances between phonemes.

The device and method is adaptable to applications that require a real-time process due to a small amount of data to be calculated and fast processing. Furthermore, the device and method can be variously applied to portable devices due to low power consumption.
