摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein the effect of non-throttle operation on improved fuel economy is not sufficiently developed in a low load operation region of an internal combustion engine which performs non-throttle operation, because of the lowering of an effective compression ratio with too early closing of an intake valve. SOLUTION: The intake valve is closed in a partial load operation region during an intake stroke and lower limit values different depending on operation regions are provided for the effective compression ratio. The intake valve is opened works at the timing of closing the intake valve showing the lower limit value for the effective compression ratio and the intake valve and an exhaust valve are opened and closed, respectively, before a top dead point of an exhaust stroke. The too much lowering of the effective compression ratio in the low load operation region is avoided and cylinder temperature and pressure at an ignition timing is sufficiently increased, to avoid the lowering of combustion efficiency and maximize the improved fuel economy effect of non-throttle operation. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a cylinder engine of center injection type such that the injected liquid fuel is directly injected to an ignition plug to cause heavy carbonization of the ignition plug because the ignition plug is arranged near an injector. SOLUTION: A notch is formed to one part of the tip of an injector, so as to form a rough portion and a dense portion for spray, and the injector is arranged in a manner that the rough portion is in a direction of the ignition plug. Direct hit of the liquid fuel to the ignition plug is prevented, so that it is possible to prevent heavy carbonization of the ignition plug and elongate a life of the ignition plug.

SOLUTION: Scavenge accelerating control for scavenging exhaust gas in a combustion chamber is performed using at least one of a pressure in an intake pipe, a pressure in the combustion chamber, and a pressure in an exhaust pipe, and fuel is injected twice during an intake compression process.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a conventional problem in reduction of exhaust HC by after- burning by fuel deposition, in a fuel stability by insufficient stratifying of air-fuel mixture, and in improvement of fuel consumption because conventionally fuel spray in a shape of a hollowed conical is collided with a piston having a cavity in order to transfer fuel to an ignition plug. SOLUTION: The spray is pointed to an ignition plug 700. An L shaped notch is provided on an outlet part of a nozzle of a turning type fuel injection valve 1. Thus, the spray is deflected so that turning components are strong and spray in a large quantity is possible. Therefore, the reduction of the exhaust HC and the improvement of the fuel consumption can be achieved.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the difficulty to ensure combustion stability at a low rotational speed and under low load like idling and to improve exhaust capability and fuel consumption in other areas, in a cylinder direct injection engine for guiding air-fuel mixture by means of air flowing by direct injection of fuel to a combustion chamber. SOLUTION: In this internal combustion engine, fuel is injected in a plurality of times in a compression stroke. First injection forms a lean air-fuel mixture around a plug, and second injection makes combustible mixture reach the periphery of an ignition plug. It is thus possible to conduct stratified combustion with high efficiency, thereby improving exhaust quality and fuel consumption.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a vortex strength with high quality of a vortex kept, in a spark ignition engine intending to effect stratified combustion by using a vortex flow in a cylinder. SOLUTION: In this engine, a suction port 1 is provided with a partition wall 3 and a tumble control valve 6 and a suction valve 5 is opened and closed by electromagnetic solenoid 9a and 9b. In this case, during stratified operation, the tumble control valve 6 is half-opened and the closing timing of the suction valve 5 at the initial stage of a compression stroke is retarded. Tumble is reinforced by a tumble control valve and by effecting close-in-delay of the suction, air reversely flows to a suction port and a secondary vortex in a cylinder disappears. This constitution generates tumble of high quality even when a tumble control valve is in an intermediate opening state.
