    • A gas concentration detector for detecting a concentration of pollutant gas such as NOx or SOx contained in ambient air is composed of an oxide-semiconductor gas sensor heated by a heater and a controller for determining the gas concentration by comparing a concentration level detected by the gas sensor with a calculated comparison level. The comparison level is calculated so that it follows the detected level with a certain delay. The degree of the delay is set shorter in an unstable region- of the gas sensor than in a stable region, thereby to effectively determine the gas concentration even in the unstable region.

    • An image forming apparatus is capable of maintaining a low charged potential on the surface of the guide member, thereby electrostatically preventing generation of paper dust. The image forming apparatus comprises a guide member for guiding the recording material and a rotary member for forming an image on the recording material guided by the guide member, wherein the guide member is composed of a conductive member having a layer of fluorinated resin on a guide surface for guiding the recording material. The fluorinated resin on the guide member is formed by coating and curing fluorinated resin on the conductive member. The guide member serves to change the transported direction of the recording material from the vertical direction to the horizontal direction. Such configuration prevents elevation of the potential on the fluorinated resin, covering the guide member, by friction with the recording material, thereby avoiding generation of paper dust and enabling image formation of high image quality.

    • A mold for molding a synthetic resin coated with a highly durable thick heat insulating layer, and a molding method using the same are provided. The present invention relates to a mold comprising a base mold comprising a metal, with its inner wall constituting the mold cavity being coated with a heat insulating layer, wherein the heat insulating layer comprises a polymer alloy comprising (A) a heat-resistant non-crystalline resin of a linear high-molecular weight polymer containing an aromatic ring in the main chain thereof and having a glass transition temperature of not lower than 150.degree.
