摘要： Images picked up by a plurality of cameras are corrected and projected on a single plane. The input images are converted to projected images on a reference projection plane in accordance with reference parameters and camera parameters. Then images of an area of nx.times.ny whose center is an intersection B that is a perpendicular from a center of a lens of a m-th camera on the reference projection plane are extracted from the projected images. By extracting the area as described above, there is obtained an image which can be assumed that optical axes of each camera intersects perpendicular to the reference projection plane and the optical axes are parallel to each other. Therefore, when an epipolar plane is constructed during an image interpolation process, corresponding points form a straight line on the epipolar plane, thus it becomes easier to detect the corresponding points.

摘要： An image processing apparatus of this invention reads raster-scanning type binary image data, and causes an outline extraction unit to extract outline vectors of an image. When a white raster detection unit detects that one raster data consists of all white pixels, it supplies the detection result to the outline extraction unit. Upon reception of this detection result, the outline extraction unit outputs the outline vectors extracted so far as a group of data to an outline smoothing & enlarging/compressing unit as a processing unit for executing outline smoothing processing or enlarging/compressing processing. In this manner, since this invention processes an image as a group of data divided in units of white rasters, advantages such as a decrease in required memory capacity can be expected.

The image processor includes a wavelet transforming circuit which converts input image data into a plurality of band-limited image data, and an edge detecting circuit detects edge information in the image data based upon the band-limited image data. A character-area detecting circuit detects character areas in the image data from the distribution of the edge information, and an expansion/contraction circuit unifies the character areas based upon the detected character-area information.

摘要： An apparatus for detecting imbalance abnormality in an air-fuel ratio between cylinders in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine according to the present invention increases a fuel injection quantity to a predetermined target cylinder to detect imbalance abnormality in an air-fuel ratio between cylinders at least based upon a rotation variation of the target cylinder after increasing the fuel injection quantity. The increase in the fuel injection quantity is carried out in the middle of performing the post-fuel-cut rich control. Since timing of the post-fuel cut rich control is used to increase the fuel injection quantity, the exhaust emission deterioration due to abnormality detection execution can be prevented as much as possible.
