    • A rotor 2 comprises of a pair of claw shape magnetic poles 3N and 3S and plural permanent magnets 5. The permanent magnet 5 is arranged between claw portions of the claw shape magnetic poles 3N and 3S.     • An electromagnetic push-out unit which controls engagement and disengagement between a pinion gear and a ring gear for an engine in a starter device via a non-magnetic cylindrical member disposed concentrically with a pinion shaft mechanically coupled to an electrical motor. The electromagnetic push-out unit is concentrically disposed around the cylindrical member and comprises an electromagnetic coil, a stationary core for the electromagnetic coil, a movable core facing to the pole face of the stationary core and forming a magnetic circuit together with the stationary core via a first air gap and a bridge member extending along the moving direction of the movable core, magnetically coupled thereto and facing to the stationary core with a second air gap shorter than the first air gap thereby a part of the magnetic flux in the magnetic circuit bypasses through the bridge member to increase magnetic traction force acting between the stationary core and the movable core at the start of the travel of the movable core and to suppress the increase of the magnetic traction force at the end of the travel thereof.

    • A cooling device for an electrical rotating machine is provided. The cooling device comprises; a yoke of an electric motor, end brackets and a rocker positioned in the outer circumferential portion of a commutator and fastened through the mediary of ventilation spaces to the inner circumference of one of the aforesaid end brackets. The cooling device further comprises; a screening plate for controlling the direction of cooling air being blown and a strength thereof, which is disposed between one end of the aforesaid rocker and the yoke; and a forcibly blowing device. With this cooling device, the cooling air is introduced through ventilating spaces defined radially inwardly of the aforesaid one end bracket into an electric motor by the forcibly blowing device, thereby forcibly cooling the surface of the commutator and the peripheral portion thereof.

    • Stator claw poles are disposed at a stator core at a position facing opposite a rotor so as to alternately range from the two sides along the axial direction. With a plurality of magnetic poles thus formed, the distance by which the gap between the front end portions of the stator claw poles and the stator outer circumference ranges is increased, which, in turn, reduces the reactance guided to a stator coil. It is ensured that the magnetic reluctance manifesting between the front end portions of the stator claw poles and an enclosing member that holds the stator core, facing opposite the centers of the claw poles along the circumferential direction, is greater than the magnetic reluctance manifesting between the front portions and the stator core enclosing member facing opposite the front end portions.
