    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability by coating the surface of a chloride ion sensitive membrane using an ion exchange resin membrane formed of an anion exchange group and a cation exchange group with a porous polymer or porous glass. SOLUTION: An ion exchange resin membrane is coated with a porous resin or glass. The porous material does not substantially permeate organic materials, particularly, ionic organic materials, and has ion diffusion permeability. The ionic organic materials include anionic, cationic, and amphoteric ones. Organic compounds having a functional group such as sulfonic acid as the anionic organic substances, and an organic compound having a functional group such as tertiary ammonium salt as the cationic organic substances is fovorable. An ion exchange resin membrane 4 is adhered to the end part of a cylindrical polyvinyl chloride-made sensor body 1, and the body 1 is filled with an internal solution 2. The surface making contact with a sample solution of the resin membrane 4 is coated with a cellulose film 5. An internal solid electrode 3 is dipped in the internal solution 2, and connected to a lead wire 6.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the selectivity and reliability of a sensor by using orthonitrophenylaokylether as a plasticizer and an organic mercury compound having a specific chemical formula as a sensitive substance of an ion sensitive film. SOLUTION: An internal solution 2 is filled into a cylindrical sensor body 1 made of polyvinyl chloride where an ion sensitive film 4 is adhered to an edge part, an internal electrode 3 made of silver/silver halide is dipped in it, and a lead wire 5 is connected to the electrode 3 and the other edge is connected to an external measuring circuit. An organic mercury compound shown by the formula is provided as the nitrogen ion sensitive substance of the sensitive film 4. Since alkyl ether with 16 carbons is introduced in the organic mercury compound, the selectivity of, for example, bromine ion which is more lipophilic than nitrogen ion is improved. Also, orthonitrophenylalkylether is used for the plasticizer of the sensitive film 5, thus improving solubility for ligand with increased lipophilic nature and hence accurately determining nitrogen ion existing in an organism liquid.

    • PURPOSE:To prolong a storage lifetime of a solid carbon dioxide sensor and to inexpensively manufacture it by a method wherein a layer of a dry residue of hydrophilic macromolecules wherein an electrode is buried and an electrolyte containing acid sodium carbonate, at least, is dispersed is provided between a hydrogen ion sensitive film and a gas permeation film. CONSTITUTION:A dry residue 10 of hydrophilic macromolecules, a hydrogen ion sensitive film 11, an intermediate layer 12 of the hydrophilic macromolecules and a silver/silver chloride electrode 13 are laminated on the side of a gas permeation film 9 being opposite to a flow passage. An electrode 14 for measuring potential is buried in the residue 10. An additive of silicon nitride is used, for instance, for the sensitive film 11 and this is prepared as a macromolecular film by uniform dissolution in a volatile solvent. As to the material of the permeation film 9, polyvinyl chloride is used, for instance. In this constitution, a sample liquid or a standard liquid is introduced sequentially into the flow passage 2 and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide is measured continuously. Since the hydrophilic macromolecules are in a dry state before a sensor is used, water in an electrolytic solution does not evaporate during storage and this a storage lifetime is improved greatly.
