    • Provided is a linear and rotary actuator capable of bearing moment and load from a movable body and downsizing its radial dimension. A spline shaft is held in housings to be movable linearly in the axial direction and rotatable about the axis. The spline shaft is connected to a mover shaft of a linear motor. The spline shaft is surrounded with a hollow rotor of a rotary motor. The rotor is connected to a spline nut which transmits rotation of the rotor to the spline shaft by rotating together with the rotor and allows linear movement of the spline shaft. The rotor of the rotary motor is rotated by a stator of the rotary motor. The spline nut, the stator of the rotary motor and a stator of the linear motor are arranged in this order from an end of the spline shaft and mover shaft along the axial direction.

    • Disclosed is a micro actuator capable of being formed in compact as a whole, such as 10 mm in diameter by diminishing a difference between a stroke distance of a moving member and an overall length, and by reducing a sectional area taken in a direction orthogonal to a stroke direction. The micro actuator includes: a spline shaft formed as a cylinder with a hollow part and having an axially extending slit opening; a spline nut fit-engaged with the spline shaft and axially guiding the spline shaft; a pair of end caps fixed to openings at both ends of the spline shaft; a magnet rod supported at both ends within the hollow part of the spline shaft by the end caps; and a forcer loosely fit-engaged with a periphery of the magnet rod within the hollow part of the spline shaft to constitute a linear motor together with the magnet rod and connected with the spline nut through the slit opening.

    • An electric actuator is provided with a power transmission mechanism capable of converting a rotating driving power supplied from an electric motor to a reciprocating motion. This power transmission mechanism is provided with a cylindrical member formed, in its inner peripheral surface, with at least one row of rolling member rolling groove, a nut member disposed to be reciprocally through the rolling members endlessly circulating in the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member, and a cylinder rod operatively connected to an end portion of the nut member to be axially movable with respect to the cylindrical member. The reciprocating motion of the nut member in the axial direction is guided by the circular cylindrical member. According to such structure, high output and high controllability can be realized, as well as realizing of a compact electric actuator of a size similar to a conventional hydraulic cylinder.

Thermal insulators for blocking heat generated from the primary side of the linear motor are provided between the primary side and the rail of the guide mechanism to which the primary side is connected directly or indirectly.

    • An upper guide assembly for a wire cut electric discharge machine adapted to be mounted with an automatic wire feeding mechanism, which holds the wire without direct mechanical contact. A hold jet nozzle is connected to the upper portion of a body 23, while an upper guide is connected to the lower portion of the body. The body includes an electrode roller for supplying electric power to the wire, and an electrode pinch roller capable of coming into and out of contact with the electrode roller. The hold jet nozzle includes a through hole whose center axis is aligned with a wire path a provided in the upper guide assembly and extending vertically, and a supply passage for pressurized machining fluid communicating with the through hole. The upper guide contains a die guide and an upper nozzle. A guide axis of the die guide and a center axis of the upper nozzle are aligned with the wire path a. During operation of the wire cut electric discharge machine, pressurized machining fluid is supplied to the supply passage to form a water pillar, which produces an urging force in the upper guide assembly, whereby the wire is guided through the upper guide assembly by the water pillar without contacting with interior parts of the assembly.

    • A wire electrode guide apparatus (1) in a wire-cut electric discharge machine includes a switch valve (80) for supplying pressurized air and preventing the supply of the air to an air pressure-operated actuator (70) for driving a movable piece (40) for three point-support of a wire electrode (3) between the movable piece and a stationary piece. During wire extension, an air supply port (88) of the switch valve is communicated to a switch port (87) thereof through which the pressurized air is supplied to the actuator to move a piston rod (73) of the actuator away from the movable piece to release an urging force acting upon the same, resulting in easy insertion of the wire electrode between the stationary and movable pieces. During electric discharge machining, the switch port is disconnected from the pressurized air supply port to prevent the air supply to the actuator, so that the movable piece is urged by the actuator for wire support. A highly pressurized working fluid injected from a nozzle (51) and penetrating into the actuator through gaps between apparatus components is discharged outside the apparatus through the switch port and a pressure relief port (89) in communication therewith, so that the actuator is prevented from decreasing the urging force acting upon the movable piece to thereby accurately support the wire electrode on a predetermined traveling path.
