    • The device for producing three dimensional objects by layer-wise hardening of constituent at a point corresponding to the object, comprises a working field in which hardening of the constituent takes place, a coating element (61) that applies the constituent in the form of a layer and a drive mechanism (59) having a pneumatic system (69). The coating element is formed as blade, whose side turned to the working field applies the constituent on a carrier device. The drive mechanism forwardly and backwardly moves the coating element on a circular path. The device for producing three dimensional objects by layer-wise hardening of constituent at a point corresponding to the object, comprises a working field in which hardening of the constituent takes place, a coating element (61) that applies the constituent in form of a layer and a drive mechanism (59) having a pneumatic system (69). The coating element is formed as blade, whose side turned to the working field applies the constituent on a carrier device. The drive mechanism forwardly and backwardly moves the coating element between a first end position on a first side of the field and a second end position on oppositely-lying second side of the field on a circular path. The first end position and the second end position have a circular cross-section between them. The drive mechanism has a drive shaft, which is arranged perpendicularly and laterally to the working field and moves over a limited angle region in rotation for producing the movement of the coating element. The coating element extends parallely to the working field and is fastened at the drive shaft in torque proof manner. The pneumatic system moves the coating element by the admission of pressure.
