The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using lithium bis[2,3-naphthalenediolato (2-)O,O']borate as an electrolyte.

With this positive electrode active material for the lithium secondary battery, a lithium secondary battery can be obtained, which is high in discharge voltage/capacity and energy density. Moreover, its discharge voltage is not dropped despite charging and discharging are repeated for many times, has a small drop in the discharge capacity, and is excellent in the cycle characteristic.

This manufacturing method of the flat-state winding-type electrode can suppress a stress caused by the frictional force from concentrating on the electrode plate and the separator in the molding by reducing the frictional force between the separator and the electrode plate in the molding, and as the result, the flat-state winding-type electrode body can be manufactured wherein the electrode plates are tightly adhered to each other without causing any cracks or breakage in the electrode plate.

In the formula, R means an alkylene group having 1-10 carbon atom, R means an alkyl group, an aryl group or alkyl aryl group having 1-30 carbon atom, X means hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkyl aryl group, an arcoxy group, an aryloxy group or an alkylaryloxy group, (m) means a numeric 1-10, (n) means a numeric 1-3. Tris methoxyethylphosphate or the like is used. In the case where this fire resistant electrolyte is used for a lithium secondary battery or the like, ignition of the electrolyte is restricted, and safety of the battery is effectively improved.
