    • A sealing device (1) having an oil seal (10) mounted to non-rotatable housing (2) and also having a slinger (20) mounted to a rotating body (5) on the inner peripheral side of the oil seal (10) so as to be located on the axially outer side of the oil seal (10), the oil seal (10) having an oil-resistant seal lip (13) slidably in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating body (5), wherein a seal ring (30) axially opposed to the slinger (20) is provided outward of the oil-resistant seal lip (13), a gap (G3) being formed between the seal ring (30) and the slinger (20) so as to decrease to the outer diameter side. The construction prevents muddy water etc. from entering from the outside (A) into a slide section (S1) of the oil-resistant seal lip (13).

    • To prevent muddy water intrusion into a sliding section (S1) of an oil seal lip (13), a sealing device (1) has an oil seal (10) mounted at an opening end (2a) of a housing (2) and a slinger (20) mounted axially outside the oil seal (10) on a rotating body (5), the oil seal (10) is formed from a rubber-like elastic material integrally with a metal reinforcement ring (11) and has the oil seal lip (13) slidably contacting with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating body (5) and a side lip (15) slidably contacting with the slinger (20), the reinforcement ring (11) has a sliding tube section (11b) radially outside a sliding section (S2) of the side lip (15), and a external seal lip (23) provided on a radially outer section (22a) of the slinger (20) slidably contacts with the outer peripheral surface of the sliding tube section (11b).

    • An objective of the present invention is to provide a lip type end face sealing device 6 having excellent sealability to different kinds of liquids on the both sides in the axial direction and having excellent durability. A case 61 tight fitted to an inner peripheral face 2a of a housing 2 comprises case members 611 and 612. One pair of seal lips 62 and 63 is integrally fitted to inner peripheral flange parts 611b and 612b, positioned oppositely each other in the axial direction, and opened in a tapered shape. One pair of the seal lips 62 and 63 is slidably contacted with flange parts 64b and 65b of slingers 64 and 65 tight fitted to an outer periphery of a rotary shaft 3. Pressure in seal internal spaces S2 between the both seal lips 62 and 63 and the both slingers 64 and 65 is released through a vent hole 22 opened on the inner peripheral face 2a of the housing 2, an air hole 611c opened on the case 61, and between the case members 611 and 612.
