    • A fluid valve means having a differential piston associated with a dead body. The differential piston has a plurality of stepped portions of different diameters. A cylinder is provided having an accurate bore of at least one of these diameters in which one portion of the piston is slidable. A further bore is provided in the cylinder having a clearance machined to a dimension with large tolerances, and housed in this further bore is at least one other part known as a "dead body" which is provided with an accurate blind bore in which slides a portion of the piston of another diameter. A cover closes the further bore and ensures the fluid-tightness of the cylinder. The various cylindrical portions of the piston unequal diameter slide, with a smooth and fluid-tight action, almost without play and without hard spots, in bores formed in the various parts of the cylinder.

    • An inertia switch for detecting impending locking of a rotaty member, such as a vehicle wheel, and having a variable deceleration detection threshold has a flywheel rotatable on a shaft adapted to be driven by the rotary member, a flywheel drive element on the shaft and biased by a spring into engagement with a stop on the flywheel, the flywheel and drive element carrying respective contacts of a pair of closable contacts which are open when the drive element is engaged with the stop, and a weighted lever pivoted on the flywheel eccentrically of the shaft, and co-operable with the drive element to apply a force dependent upon the rotational speed of the flywheel to oppose closing of the contacts. A rigid link on the spring may connect a free end of the lever with the drive element, and the lever may be a bell crank having one weighted limb and a second limb which abuts against the drive element and to which the spring can be attached. The tension in the spring and the maximum separation of the contacts are adjustable.

    • This hydro-pneumatic suspension device for motor vehicles comprising at least two accumulators set at different pressures and at least one slide valve distributor adapted to connect said accumulators having different pressures, separately and by turn, to cylinders associated with the wheels of the vehicle, said slide valve distributor being urged to a first positon by a gaged resilient member and pushed to another position by the fluid pressure in the load circuit when this pressure exceeds a predetermined threshold value, said device comprising in the circuit connecting said cylinder to said slide valve distributor a switching delay valve comprising means for holding its slide member in two predetermined positions, whereby the passage from one position to the other position of said slide member takes place according to the direction of movement at different values of the suspension pressure.

    • This invention relates to a suspension of a group of wheels of a vehicle, comprising two wheels located respectively on either side of the longitudinal plane of this vehicle and two suspension devices, each being constituted by at least one anti-roll bar and belonging to one of the two wheels, whilst each wheel is connected to one end of its suspension device and an elastic member is fixed to each of the ends of the suspension devices opposite the ends connected to the wheels, by coupling means, which are distinct from said elastic member and which are constituted by a part comprising two support elements between which the elastic member is disposed and by a member for fixing the suspension device in question to said coupling means, wherein the part comprising the two support elements is constituted by an arm which is provided on the one hand with the fixing member, on the other hand with a swell constituting a first of the two elements for supporting said part on a first face of the elastic member, and by a tie-rod integral with the arm and provided with a shoulder which is distant from the face of the arm provided with the swell, disposed opposite the said face and which constitutes the second of the two support elements of the part on a second face of the elastic member, which is opposite the first afore-mentioned face of said elastic member. The suspension described is applicable in particular to the manufacture of automobile vehicles.
