    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide further high close fitting property between a flexible joint and a manhole hole part.
      SOLUTION: This fixing method of flexible joint for fixing a flexible joint to the hole part of a manhole comprises (1) a process for preparing the flexible joint, the flexible joint having a manhole-side cylindrical part to be fixed to the hole part; (2) a process for preparing an expansion band 1, the expansion band 1 having an annular member 2 having a cut part 3 at least in one position and a rigid collar 4 for housing both end parts 3a and 3b of the cut part 3 in a slidable state; (3) a process for arranging the expansion band 1 on the inside of the manhole-side cylindrical part of the flexible joint; (4) a process for sliding both the end parts 3a and 3b of the cut part 3 within the rigid collar 4 to extend the diameter of the annular member 2; and (5) a process for fixing both the end parts 3a and 3b of the cut part 3 to fix the annular member 2 in the diameter-extended state, and fixing the manhole-side cylindrical part to the hole part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give flexibility corresponding to relative position change between a manhole and a ribbed pipe and ensure water stop by connecting the manhole and the ribbed pipe via a flexible joint. SOLUTION: A drilled hole 20 is provided to allow connection between a manhole 3 and a pipe 1 provided with a rib 2 on the outer periphery via an elastic flexible joint 16A. The end of the pipe 1 is inserted in the drilled hole 20. The flexible joint has a fixing part 5 mounted in the manhole, a cylindrical part 6 in which the pipe is inserted and a connection part 18 for connecting the fixing part and the cylindrical part. A connection structure includes a water stop material layer 8 provided between the inner periphery of the cylindrical part and the outer periphery of the pipe and a fastening member 7 mounted on the outer periphery of the cylindrical part. The fastening member is used to fasten the cylindrical part and the water stop material layer and thus thrust the water stop material layer against the rib on the outer periphery of the pipe, causing water stop between the cylindrical part and the outer periphery of the pipe.
