摘要： The present invention relates to image processing in which an image resolution of input image data is compared to information of predetermined standard resolution, and the image data is judged to determine whether it includes specific information related to copy protection. Whether or not to perform judging is controlled based on the result of the comparison. Because the control technique of the present invention controls whether or not to perform the judgment based on the result of the c comparison, the control technique according to the invention provides an efficient judging processing, since no judgment is performed on low resolution image data which is not prone to counterfeiting.

For combinations of four colors, data on patches are generated which can be printed without causing ink to overflow. Then, with reference to a maximum color material use amount, a possible total color material use amount is calculated for each combination of six dark and light colors Y, M, C, K, Lm, and Lc. Then, for each combination, M and C are each separated into dark and light colors in accordance with the possible total color material use amount. Thus, a color separation table is generated which corresponds to combinations of six colors Y, M, C, K, Lm, and Lc.

摘要： Generation of color separation data is executed with effectively utilizing a particularly high saturation and lightness of a particular color printing materials so as to expand the entire reproducible gamut. More specifically, for example, printing materials except the particular color printing material as well as high saturation and high lightness particular color printing material is used and a used amount of the printing materials except the particular color printing material is decreased relatively, to reduce a rate of lowering of saturation to lowering of lightness. As a result, a gamut of lower saturation side can be enlarged in both directions of saturation and lightness.
