SOLUTION: The energy control device having a means for accumulating or emitting the energy according to the situation of heating request or cooling request comprises first heat accumulators 2, 3, a first thermoelectric conversion element 1 and second thermoelectric conversion elements 7, 8 which are connected to the first heat accumulators 2, 3 in a heat-transferrable manner for converting the thermal energy and the electric energy to each other, first control means 18, 21 to energize either one of the first and second thermoelectric conversion elements 1, 7, 8 so as to accumulate the heat in the first heat accumulators 2, 3, and second control means 18, 21 to control energization of the other of the first and second thermoelectric conversion elements 1, 7, 8 so as to output the heat energy of the first heat accumulators 2, 2 as the electric power.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power unit suppressing degradation in driveability and improving fuel economy. SOLUTION: The electric power unit 1 comprises: first wiring 13 connecting an alternator 11 driven by an engine 10 and a constant-voltage current consumer 14 driven by 12 V; an accumulator 21 accumulate cold heat and hot heat; a thermoelectric transducer 20 supplying generated electric power to a battery 15; second wiring 16 connecting the battery 15 with a variable voltage current consumer 17 driven by, for example, 5 to 16 V; a relay 18 disposed on third wiring 19 connecting the first wiring 13 with the second wiring 16 to connect/disconnect between the first wiring 13 and the second wiring 16; and a charge/discharge ECU 30 controlling the thermoelectric transducer 20 based on traveling route information, and controlling the relay 18 based on an operational status of the engine 10, a heat accumulation state of the accumulator 21, and a state of charge of the battery 15.
