    • PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as a disinfectant, economically, in high purity and yield, without using organic solvent, without pollution, by reacting an alkali metal salt of specific ethene compound with a 1,4-naphthoquinone compound in the presence of a surface active agent in water.
      CONSTITUTION: An alkali metal salt of 1,2-dicyan-1,2-dimercaptoethene is made to react with 2,3-dichloro-1,4-naphthoquinone in water, in the presence of a surface active agent such as anionic surface active agent, nonionic surface active agent (e.g. higher olefin ether), etc., at 20W40°C, to obtain the objective 2,3-dicyan-1,4- dithiaanthraquinone. The amount of the surface active agent is 0.01W1.0wt% of the water.
