    • The invention relates to an electrical earthing nut (1). In the past these have sometimes vibrated loose, with the result that a failsafe safety device has been rendered inoperable. The invention overcomes this problem by providing a nut (1) that has a nut body (2) having an internal thread (4) to receive a threaded shaft and an external perimeter shaped to receive a tensioning device such as a spanner. Body (2) has opposing generally planar faces 5,6. Threaded apertures (7A, 7B, 7C) are provided on the nut body to receive a bolt (8A) to secure an earth connector (8B) to the nut body (2) and grub screws (8C, 8D). Four raised ribs (9A, 9B, 9C, 9D) are provided on planar face (5) to scrape or cut into a surface against which the nut is to abut. Earthing nut (1) may be used with a cable gland.

    • A scalable, reliable session initiation protocol (SIP) signaling router (200) includes cluster nodes (202) for performing SIP services. A location server (204) replicates its database of SIP location information to each of the cluster nodes (202). Because each cluster node (202) maintains its own local copy of the SIP location database, the time for routing SIP signaling messages is decreased. Load sharing is also performed among the cluster nodes (202) by Ethernet switches (210, 212) that connect the cluster nodes (202) to external networks. One Ethernet switch (210) periodically sends messages to each of the cluster nodes (202) to monitor the operational status of the cluster nodes (202). The Ethernet switch (210) also maintains a connection tuple table containing information regarding active connections to each of the cluster nodes (202). Load sharing is performed based on the operational status and the connection tuple table.

    • A semi-pneumatic tire assembly including a tire casing (22) and a lining (26) is provided. The lining (26) includes a contoured inward surface (30) defining an inflation chamber (18) about an associated wheel rim. The lining (26) minimizes the risk of puncture damage from an object penetrating the tire casing (22) while allowing pneumatic cushioning of the ride and cooler running temperatures as compared to solid-fill tires. Additionally, the semi-pneumatic tire will carry the same load or more than the same tire filled with permafoam and/or solid urethane foam wingfil. The tire assembly is formed by injecting a curable, lining-forming material (96) into a cavity (57) defined between the tire casing (22) and a molding member (50). The molding member (50) includes a contoured outer surface (54) which molds the inward surface of the lining (26). The molding member (50) may be an inflatable airbag (100) retained in the tire assembly during service. Alternately, the molding member (50) may be a solid core (114) which is removed prior to mounting the tire casing (22) and lining (26) on the associated rim.

    • A system for providing a foot orthosis for a person includes a scanning and data entry unit (10) which includes a scanner (12) and data entry unit (14). The data entry unit (12) allows patient details and other information to be keyed in. The scanner (12) scans the foot of the person to acquire shape data relating to said foot. The scanner and data entry unit (10) is remote from a central computer (20) and connected to it by a modem (16) and a communications link (18). The computer (20) has database of parameters of a predetermined number of foot orthoses, and a stock of orthoses in accordance with those parameters is kept at a store (22). Upon receipt of data from a foot scan, the computer conducts a comparison of those data with the parameters in the database, and selects the reference parameters which match those data. An orthosis matching that selection is then supplied from the store (22).
