    • A modular wall system (10) includes a number of decorative panels that are received in an extruded panel frame (22). The panel frames (22) are positioned by connecting them to a wall rail (16) that is attached to the building. The wall rail (16) and the panel frame (22) each have a groove (52, 62) that accepts a fastener or clip (18) by interference or snap fit to attach the panel frame (22) to the wall rail (16). The grooves (52, 62) have a dove-tail shape that permits a snap fit to secure the panels (12) yet permit the panels to be easily removed or reconfigured.

    • A method for maintaining alignment of outlet openings in wall systems and a kit to provide for correct alignment of outlet openings in a wall panel member are disclosed. The method comprises provision of a chassis member (2) having at least one utility opening (4) therein. The chassis member is secured to the desired structural support, such as a stud or the like, at a predetermined location. A wall panel member (9) having at least one utility opening therein is secured over the chassis member so that the openings in the chassis and wall panel are in registry with each other. The kit comprises a chassis member adapted for placement over the structural support a predetermined location. The chassis has pre-cut outlet openings therein. A wall panel having pre-cut outlet openings therein is mounted over the chassis to the structural support so that the openings of the wall panel and chassis are in registry.

    • The present discovery uses monomers which contain reversible photo­crosslinkable groups in addition to primary polymerizable groups. The mechanical properties of these materials and the reversibility of the photo-activated shape memory effect demonstrate the effectiveness of using photo-irradiation to effect change in modulus and shape memory effect. In the preferred embodiment the reaction mixture includes a photo-reactive monomer comprising a photo reactive group and a polymerizable group; a second monomer, which is more preferably a mixture of monomers, which are acrylate based; a multi-functional crosslinking agent, preferably 1,6 hexanediol diacrylate (HDODA); an initiator, preferably a free radical initiator; and a fifth, optional, component which is a modifying polymer. The mixture of the second monomer, crosslinking agent, and initiator comprise the base polymer matrix into which the photo-reactive monomer is incorporated. The polymeriziable group of the photo reactive monomer allows the photo reactive monomer to polymerize with the base polymer matrix.

    • Disclosed is a sputtering target that may be used to provide an electrode for FPD devices. The target and resulting electrode inhibit the generation of hillocks and have reduced resistivity. These properties render the electrode suitable for use as a thin film transistor in an active matrix liquid crystal display and the like. The electrode for semiconductor devices is made of an aluminum-based alloy containing one or more alloying elements selected from rare earth alloying elements present in a total amount from 0.01 to 3 at % . The method of fabricating a target that, when sputtered, will provide for an electrode includes the steps of continuous casting with electromagnetic stirring, in which the elements mentioned above are dissolved in an A1 matrix, and precipitating part or all of the elements dissolved in the A1 matrix as intermetallic compounds during solidification. The target is made of an aluminum-based alloy containing the above elements by thermo mechanical fabrication, rolling or extrusion process.

    • A shield (22) for protecting chamber walls (14) of a sputter reactor (10) comprising foam metal shaped into a desired shield shape. The foam metal inserts (24) are easily configured for mounting within the sputter reactor chamber. The foam metal shield material provides more surface area and better adhesion of the sputter coated particles, thereby reducing particulate emission and allowing longer use before replacement. The shields are also relatively inexpensive to fabricate. Once the shield is coated with sputter particles, the foam metal shield can be removed from the sputter chamber and heated in a thermite reaction, thereby reducing the particles collected on the foam metal shield to an elemental metal and thus facilitating recovery of the deposited sputter material. The apparatus has a target (12), vacuum pump (21), pedestal (18), substrate (16), gas supply system (20), clips (25), insulating ring (26), DC power supply (24), and metal layer (28).
