Users of such a visual communication system may include emergency response personnel and critical workers, and the GUI may display various vision modes directed to situations that may arise out of an emergency response, military, law enforcement, public safety effort or mission.

A method for variable framerate encoding includes receiving shots, as segmented from a video input, extracting features for each of the shots, the features including at least a spatial energy feature and an average temporal energy, predicting a frame dropping factor for each of the shots based on the spatial energy feature and the average temporal energy, predicting an optimized framerate for each of the shots based on the frame dropping factor, downscaling and encoding each of the shots using the optimized framerate. The encoded shots may then be decoded and upscaled back to their original framerates.

摘要： A retrofittable mount system for a mask having a mask window comprises a sensor removably mounted to the mask to collect information about an environment as sensor data, wherein the sensor is removably mounted to the mask with a first mount mechanism that does not penetrate the mask window. A processor is coupled to the sensor, wherein the processor executes one or more cognitive enhancement engines to process the sensor data into enhanced characterization data. An output device is removably mounted to the mask with a second mount mechanism without penetrating the mask window. The output device receives the enhanced characterization data from the processor and communicates the enhanced characterization data to a mask wearer, such that the enhanced characterization data is integrated into natural senses of the wearer and optimized for the performance of a specific task of the wearer to reduce the cognitive load of the wearer.

摘要： An original input video file is encoded using a machine learning approach. The encoder performs a detailed video analysis and selection of encoding parameters that using a machine learning algorithm improves over time. The encoding process is done using a multi-pass approach. During a first pass, the entire video file is scanned to extract video property information that does not require in-depth analyses. The extracted data is then entered into an encoding engine, which uses artificial intelligence to produce optimized encoder settings. The video file is into a set of time-based chunks and, in a second pass, the encoding parameters for each chunk are set and distributed to encoding nodes for parallel processing. These encoder instances probe-encode each chunk determine the level of complexity for the chunk and to derive chunk-specific encoding parameters. Following completion of the second pass, the results of both passes are then merged to obtain the necessary information for the encoder to achieve the best possible result.

摘要： In a system for video data capture and sharing client devices may include one or more video cameras and sensors to capture video data and to generate associated metadata. A cloud-based component may receive metadata from the client devices and requests for sharing video data captured by other client devices. The system can be used to implement a ridesharing method to connect a rider to a driver. Information about the driver and rider is accessed when a driver accepts a ridesharing request. Camera devices in the pickup area can detect the license plate of the driver's vehicle to confirm its arrival and a client device in the vehicle can facially recognize the driver at the wheel. Similarly, the location of the rider in the pickup area can be verified, for example through a face recognition scan. Once both driver and rider are verified, they are notified of their presence in the pickup area and linked, for example by identifying the rider in an augmented reality display in the driver's vehicle and by displaying an image of the rider on a side-facing display.

摘要： An original input content is subjected to multiple constant quality probe encodes for a defined set of resolutions. In one embodiment, probe encodes encode a few parts of the original source video, for example, 30 seconds from 5 different positions. Each probe encode delivers an average bitrate that is required to achieve the configured constant quality. The mean value of the average bitrate is taken per resolution. This results in a list of bitrates that map to a resolution that would achieve the best quality, a custom bitrate table. Based on the custom bitrate table, an optimized bitrate ladder is computed. The process starts with a configurable minimum bitrate and steps up by a bitrate step size that is between a configurable min and max bitrate step size until the bitrate of the highest resolution is reached.
