    • While stripping an electrical cable in a stripping device of a cable-processing system, detection by an electrically conductive cutting device with a sensor circuit takes place if contact with a conductor occurs. By connecting the sensor circuit to the cutting device a measuring capacitance is developed. Before incising the electrical cable, a capacitance value of the measurement capacitance is determined during a first measurement cycle in which a charge equalization is carried out between the measurement capacitance and a reference capacitance. A parameter is determined in a further measurement cycle in which a charge equalization is again carried out between the measurement capacitance and the reference capacitance, wherein, relative to the first capacitance, the parameter displays a change in the capacitance after incising into the electrical cable. A signal is produced, if the change is greater than an established threshold value, indicating contact with the conductor.

    • A hand tool includes a casing, a press cutting mechanism, a switching wheel and stripping mechanism. The casing has a hollow chamber in its interior. The press cutting mechanism is installed inside the hollow chamber. The press cutting mechanism includes a ram component and a sleeve that sheathes the ram component. The external periphery of the sleeve has a first positioning surface. The switching wheel has a through hole that corresponds to and selectively connects to the sleeve. The inner wall of the through hole has a second positioning surface. The stripping mechanism has a lock connected to the casing through a soft belt. By turning the switching wheel, the second positioning surface and the first positioning surface can be aligned or misaligned. As a result the hand tool can be switched between two or more functions.

    • A wire stripping tool for moving insulation from the end of electrical wiring having a first, elongate cutting member providing a first handle at one end and a first cutting edge at the opposite end thereof and a second cutting member providing a second cutting edge. Each cutting edge has a wire-receiving notch therein. An elongate insulation removing member has a second handle at one end and an insulation pulling edge at the opposite end thereof. A pin member pivotally connects together the first and second cutting members and the insulation removing member at a location close to the cutting edges. A stop member on the first cutting member prevents continued pivotal movement of the first cutting member relative to the second cutting member beyond a selected point. A spring is connected between the insulation removing member and an end of the second cutting member. The spring biases the insulation removing member to a position where the pulling edge is beside the second cutting edge. The tool is capable of pulling a severed end piece of insulation off the metal wire by a single pull of the handles towards one another.

    • A wire stripping and cutting tool comprises two pivotally joined elongated members. First, second, and third pairs of cutting members are mounted on the elongated members. The cutting surfaces of the first pair of cutting members are shaped and dimensioned to cut through the outer sheath of sheathed electrical cable without cutting an electrical conductor within the sheath or the individual conductor insulation covering the conductor. The cutting surfaces of the second pair of cutting members are shaped and dimensioned to cut through the sheath and individual conductor insulation without cutting the conductor. The cutting surfaces of the third pair of cutting members are shaped and dimensioned to cut through the sheath, the individual conductor insulation, and the conductor. If no outer sheath is present, a modified first pair of cutting members may function as guide members to align separate conductors for the second pair of cutting members.
