The parking fee centre (12) is in connection with a mobile communication network and comprises means for receiving information comprising a parking-ticket-specific identifier; means for determining the starting time and price of the parking event on the basis of said received information; means for charging for the parking fee; means for producing an exit permit code as a response to the charging for the parking fee; and the exit control device (14) comprises means for receiving the ticket-specific exit permit code produced by the parking fee centre (12) and means for opening a boom or the like as a response to the detection of the parking ticket corresponding to the received exit permit code.

摘要： A method of cash card billing when parking a vehicle. A parking meter system includes a plurality of meters, each constituting an independent operative unit. The meters are equipped with a cash card reader. A person parking a vehicle finds a meter and with the aid of the cash card reader feeds-in information from the cash card relating, at least, to the cash card account number. Upon commencement of the parking period and subsequent to having read the cash card, the meters issue a parking ticket. The purpose of the invention is to make it possible for the person to use any of the meters in the system when terminating the parking period. The solution includes the use of a transaction number (TN), which is stored in a memory belonging to the first meter and given on the ticket in a form which can be read in a meter. When the parking period is to be terminated the ticket is read in a second meter, which may be any of the meters, including the first one.

The methods and apparatus can include maintaining accounts for participants in the rewards program, tracking purchases of parking and other participant activities and determining parking awards based upon the activities. The parking rewards programs can be used to incentivize behaviors that balance the use of the parking space commodity according to the needs of different stakeholders, such as the city, residents, merchants and visitors. For example, parking awards and the criteria used for earning awards can be used to encourage particular behaviors while a parking space is being utilized, such as shopping, the use of public transportation or efficient trip planning.
