    • A control system selectively configurable from print job to print job in at least two configurations for controlling a plurality of print engines in a high-speed printer includes a host computer for storing print job data. A communication link is connected to the host computer and at least first and second print engine controllers are each connected to the communication link for retrieving print job data from the host computer. The first print engine controller is operatively connected to at least a first print engine for providing rasterized bit-map data thereto and the second print engine controller is operatively connected to at least a second print engine for providing rasterized bit-map data thereto. Each of the first and second print engine controllers is programmed for selective operation in at least both a master state and a slave state. In a first system configuration the first print engine controller operates in the master state and the second print engine controller operates in the slave state. In a second system configuration the second print engine controller operates in the master state and the first print engine controller operates in the slave state.

    • The invention relates to a method for printing a digital document on a plurality of cut sheets arranged in a cut sheet printing sequence order resulting in at least one reader spread in an end product, each cut sheet having a first side and a second side, the at least one reader spread consisting of two neighboring sides, each neighboring side of which is of a different cut sheet of the plurality of cut sheets and is intended to be printed upon by a digital page image of the digital document, wherein the method comprises the step of for each reader spread in an end product printing each digital page image corresponding to the reader spread on the first side of the corresponding cut sheet or printing each digital page image corresponding to the reader spread on the second side of the corresponding cut sheet. The invention also relates to a cut sheet printing system configured to apply the method.

    • An image forming device and a method for shortening a file searching time are provided to shorten delay when searching a file stored in an image forming device, and shorten time required for generating a search database in each system initialization by using a RAM. A memory(240) stores search data, which is required for searching the file, and a large capacity storing part(230) stores the files. A controller(260) searches the file by using the search data, reads the searched file from the large capacity storing part according to a command for processing the searched file, and processes the read file according to the processing command. A printing part(270) prints the searched file if a printing command of the searched file is received from the controller. A user interface(250) provides an interface for displaying a file list by reading the search data from the memory, and issuing the command for searching the file and processing the searched file. The memory is an NVRAM(Non-Volatile RAM), an SRAM, and a DRAM.

A 프린터와 B 프린터가 출력해서 겹치는 영역을 프린터가 한번에 찍어야 할 데이터 정보를 인위적으로 분해하여 일정 겹치는 영역을 망점을 나누어 찍게 되면 AB 프린터가 찍은 경계 부분에서 발생하는 밴딩현상을 무마할 수 있다. 또한 처음부터 항상 망점을 나누어 찍는 형태로 밴딩 현상을 제거할 수도 있다. 본 발명은 상기 망점을 나누어 찍는 기술 및 RIP SW 운용시 2대 이상의 프린터에 동일한 출력데이터를 분해해서 출력하는 기술을 특허로 하고자 한다.

    • A printing system and a printing method are provided to quickly process a printing job including mass printing data by connecting printers and performing the printing job through the connected printers according to a mass printing requests for the printing data. The printing system includes a main printer(110) and sub printers(120,130) serially connected with each other. The main printer is serially connected to one sub printer, generates system checkup request information for checking system specification for the printing job according to selection of a predetermined multi-printing mode in response to the printing request for the printing data, and sequentially transmits the generated information to the printers. The main printer distributes the printing job to the sub printers transmitting system checkup response information and sequentially transmits distributed printing job information to the corresponding sub printers.
