    • Universal head for mounting rubber bands in rubber-band underwater guns, characterized in that it comprises two parts or jaws (2,3) which are hinged together at one end so that they may be opened or closed in the manner of jaws and which define between them when they are closed at least one annular opening (9,10), there being provided releasable means (5,8) for locking said hinged parts (2,3) in the closed position. The said head comprises also an insert having in plan-view a profile substantially in the form of a U with the two arms (12) of the U terminating in threaded tubular bushes (13) which are joined together by a cylindrical body (14) having a diameter substantially corresponding to said circular openings (9,10) of the hinged parts (2,3), so that the cylindrical joining body (14) of said insert may be inserted inside one of said circular openings (9, 10), thus locking the joining body (14) of the two arms (12) on which said tubular bushes (13) are mounted between said jaws (2,3).

    • A speargun is disclosed which can be loaded by holding the butt end in the hands and moving a slider forwards with the feet to extend the spring means. This allows a person of given strength to more easily load the gun or to store more energy in the spring means than would be possible with a conventional arm-loaded gun. The gun comprises a barrel (32) with a pistol-grip (30) at the butt end and a head (34) adapted to guide the spear. The spring means comprises two rubbers (36) arranged one on either side of the barrel and aligned with its axis, the forward ends of the rubbers being connected to a forward slider (40) adapted to slide on the barrel and the rear ends being connected to a rear slider (42) also adapted to slide on the barrel. The forward slider (40) is fitted with releasable non-return means (47) that normally prevent it from moving rearwards along the barrel, while the rear slider (42) is adapted to be retained by trigger-operated catches (43). The gun is operated by manually releasing non-return means (47) and moving both sliders (40 and 42) and the rubbers (36) rearwards until the rear slider (42) is engaged by trigger catches (43). The butt (30) of the gun is then grasped by the hands and foot stops (46) on forward slider (40) are engaged by the feet and moved forward to extend the rubbers (36). The spear is then placed in position with its butt engaging a socket (44) on rear slider (42). The gun is aimed and the trigger operated to release catches (43) and the rear slider (40) to effect the discharge of the spear.

    • Underwater hunting crossbow with an elastic arming mechanism. This type of crossbow comprises an elongate body the rear end of which is provided with a stock fitted with a trigger, and the front end of which is provided with a head to channel and propel an arrow using lateral elastic ties for propulsion the front ends of which are attached or held to said head, and the rear ends of the elastic ties are connected to an arming device configured to catch on a peg or a nock situated at the rear of the arrow. The greatest disadvantage with this type of crossbow is that it can be armed only on the pegs or the nocks. The tension in the elastic ties is therefore constant because it is dictated by the distance separating the pegs or the nocks from the head. The solution proposed by the invention is an underwater hunting crossbow characterized in that the arming device incorporates clamping elements, which elements are able to move between an active position in which they clamp the body of the arrow and a passive position in which they release the body of said arrow, said clamping elements being in an active position as soon as the elastic ties are tensioned to arm the crossbow. Thus, when arming the crossbow by stretching the elastic ties, the arming device is positioned by clamping at any point on the arrow. Not only is it possible for the arrow no longer to have either pegs or nocks, but the hunter can adjust the tension in the elastic ties.
