    • A differential device for a vehicle comprises a drive shaft (5), a pair of cones (6) connected to said drive shaft so as to rotate at the same speed, and a pair of wheel shafts (2). Conical surfaces (6a) of said cones (6) are each accurately positioned in parallel to the axis of the corresponding wheel shafts, and a pair of ring wheels (4) are fitted on the wheel shafts (2) respectively in such a manner that the ring wheels (4) are fixed with respect thereto in the rotational direction but are slidable in the axial direction. The ring wheels (4) are arranged to be driven by outer conical surfaces (6a) of said left and right cones respectively, and a mechanism (a) is provided for moving the ring wheels (4) axially relatively to said wheel shafts in synchronism with the operation of a steering mechanism of the vehicle.

    • The invention relates to infinitely adjustable rolling-contact gears, preferably for use in vehicle manufacture, comprising at least one tapered disk (10, 11; 100, 110), a group of rotationally mounted planetary rollers (3; 30) which have at least one conical running surface (3a; 30a), and at least one group of double-cone-shaped, rotationally mounted intermediate rollers (5) which can be displaced longitudinally and are positioned between the planetary rollers (3; 30) and the tapered disk (10, 11; 100, 110). The tapered disks, planetary rollers and intermediate rollers are arranged in a rotationally symmetrical manner in relation to the longitudinal gear axis (1a).
