摘要： The invention relates to a unit for piercing and moulding, by means of striking, pressing or stamping, for the production of pierced bars (1) from oblongs (2) of shampoo or other detergents or personal hygiene products, such as soap, exiting an extruder (1') and a cutter (1"). The unit comprises at least one moulding assembly (3 and 4) including at least one cavity for moulding and finishing a bar (1), which cavity is formed by first and second complementary cavities that co-operate with one another. The oblongs (2) are conveyed into the unit as they exit the cutter (1") by a conveyor (13). The unit also includes: a stationary or moving piercing station (14) upstream of the moulding assembly (3 and 4), which can make one or more through-holes in the oblong (2); and at least one fill relief provided in each moulding and finishing cavity, which, during moulding, can fill one of the through-holes in the oblong (2), such as to maintain the mark of each through-hole during moulding.

摘要： An aerate/honeycombed soap product that is self-skinning and of a density less than that of water, is formed from the application of microwaves to a soap piece produced by a conventional soap-making process. The resultant product has increased in size by a factor of about 7, therefore making it a manageable size for both washing hand/face and body, yet dissolving into a high quality lathering froth after one use. The size can be further increased by the application of water spray and subsequent application of a further burst of microwaves. The manufacturing process can also be applied to soap pieces impregnated into a man-made sponge, with the result that the soap pieces increase in size and fill the porosity of the sponge, rendering it a semi-rigid bar. The process can be employed to form both moulded and free form tablets.
