    • A propulsion drive system for boats that is operated by wind power is disclosed. Upon initial observation of a boat equipped with the invention, it looks like a conventional boat. However, after closer inspection, it can be seen that a mast located at the rear of the boat supports a windmill structure. The windmill operates in a horizontal manner, similar to that of an anemometer. The central drive shaft is routed down the mast where it terminates in a gear box which increases the revolutions per minute by a factor of approximately 20 to 1. The output of the gearbox, complete with a clutch, is then routed to a propellor on the rear of the boat which is then used in a conventional manner. The features of the invention provide all of the advantages of a wind-powered boat without any of the disadvantages.

    • In short, the Eolic Marine Electrical Generator nullGEEMnull is an extraordinary invention used for capturing the huge impulse force of water or wind, to generate mechanical energy and to transform the mechanical energy into electrical energy, clean and ecological, without consuming vital oxygen thanks to the invention of immense split, self-regulating panels, radially fixed in dihedral angle to a rotary central shaft, panels which capture by shock the inexhaustible energy of the wind, the waves or the ocean currents; or fixed on rotary or flying machines of high speed, with panels formed at the same time by oscillating vanes that at a certain time of a turn of 360null will face the natural energy as a single group or panel, capturing therefrom the impulse force and converting it into rotary movement through the central rotary shaft. Said vanes in other rotation, by oscillation, will divide the panel and will align themselves with the natural vector, permitting its free passage, eliminating the turning resistance of the panel against water or wind and generating a constant rotation movement, independent of the direction of water or wind, and then transforming said mechanical energy into electrical energy by existing conventional means. The invention will allow men to renew their resources and to obtain electrical energy from anywhere in the planet such as cities, countryside, deserts, forests, mountains, seas, floating cities or spaces such as the Arctic and the Antarctic, neither polluting the environment, nor depending on costly networks or non-renewable inputs. The invention will also generate electrical energy on fleets, land vehicles or airship without consuming non-renewable fuel or destroying oxygen. Moreover, this invention replaces the internal combustion engines by eolic electrical motors, changing the scenery of the modern world and recovering the ozone lost in the Antarctic. And this invention will also be used when men in future colonize planets, without rivers or seas but with plenty of wind, to generate electrical energy without polluting this new vital space of the human race.

    • A wind-powered vehicle having a longitudinal axis and being capable of traveling in the direction thereof across a generally horizontal and generally dense medium such as water, ice or land. The vehicle includes an air propeller assembly rotatable about a propeller axis by generally horizontal wind forces. A rotation of the propeller assembly is communicated by a rotary coupling to a rotary drive member. In one embodiment, the rotary drive member includes a water propeller for propelling a water vehicle. In another embodiment, the rotary drive member includes at least one wheel for propelling a land or ice vehicle. In yet another embodiment, the rotary drive member includes at least one bladed reel for propelling an ice vehicle. The air propeller includes at least two blades extending generally perpendicularly from the propeller axis, each blade being pivotable against a resilient bias and about a laterally adjustable blade pivot axis, which is generally perpendicular to the propeller axis, by generally horizontal wind forces. Manual adjustments are required only to steer the vehicle and to reverse its direction of travel.

    • A vessel comprising a windmill mechanism having a variable pitch propeller, a generator rotatably driven by the windmill mechanism, a storage battery for storing current generated by the generator, a screw rotatably driven by the windmill mechanism, a motor to rotatably drive the screw by means of discharge of the storage battery, a control device for propeller pitch, a direction sensor for determining the natural wind direction with respect to the vessel, and a rotor direction control device to keep the propeller of the windmill in a direction of the natural wind as sensed by said direction sensor. Such a windmill vessel is able to cruise by either one of the wind force, the wind force and electric power, or electric power in response to the direction of the natural wind. The influence of the outlook wind (self cruise wind) by forward movement of the vessel is evaded, and the propeller of the windmill is always kept in the direction of the natural wind. Excess energy achieved from the wind is stored as an electric energy which can be used to power an electric motor capable of driving the screw.

    • The Variable Foil Machine harnesses fluid flow energy and propels fluids. A variable foil (120) with reversible camber is secured to a leading draft member (150) movable on a leading support (122) and to a trailing draft member (130) movable on a trailing support (136). The trailing draft member (130) is secured to a trailing guide (132) via a crank arm (148). Apparatus can be installed on the ground or on a pivoting base (138). In one embodiment, the leading draft member (150) is fixed while the trailing draft member (130) oscillates. In another embodiment, an oscillation amplitude offset between leading draft member (150) and trailing draft member (130) promotes cyclic translation of the variable foil (120). An energy converter (142) may be cooperatively coupled to produce energy or perform work. Selective combination of moving parts provides a versatile choice of modes of operation for power generation, work and communication.
