摘要： A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) adding one or more color concentrates to the flakes; (E) passing the group of flakes through an MRS extruder while maintaining the pressure within the MRS portion of the MRS extruder below about 25 millibars; (F) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (G) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for producing a shaped body, particularly a profiled piece, from a polycondensate, particularly a polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) or one of the copolymers thereof. According to the invention, the polycondensate is melted over the course of the method and, later, is rendered solid once again. The invention is characterized in that the total time, during which the temperature of the polycondensate over the course of the method is higher than the melting temperature of the polycondensate, is less than approximately 60 seconds. The method is preferably carried out by means of a multiple screw extruder, whereby the degassing and/or drying of the polycondensate ensues in the solid state at a pressure less than the atmospheric pressure and/or while adding an inert gas. The period of time during which the polycondensate dwells in the extruder after having been melted therein is less than approximately 15 seconds.

In first length sections of the extruder screw apparatus of the second extruder, the plastics melt is conveyed and/or mixed. In second length sections of the extruder screw apparatus of the second extruder, the plastics melt is conveyed and pressure is built up in the plastics melt. The plastics melt is guided alternately through first and second length sections. Before the plastics melt is guided through the outlet nozzle, temperature differences between different radial positions in the cross section of the plastics melt are reduced, and the thermally homogenized plastics melt is conducted through the outlet nozzle.

The conveyor shafts (1 to 3) are arranged in an offset manner relative to each other at an angle such that, at least in one rotational position, the conveyor shaft (2) arranged between two conveyor shafts (1 to 3) is coatable with the free-flowing material on its flanks (A, B) between its ridges (b, O) by means of the gap-forming ridges (a, c) of the two adjacent conveyor shafts (1 and 3), with the said flanks (A, B) being cleanable again from the free-flowing material by means of the ridges (O) of the two adjacent conveyor shafts (1 and 2) spaced from the bore wall (1′, 2′, 3′) by a clearance in at least one further rotational position of the conveyor shaft.
