    • The present invention concerns a punching machine and a method using such a machine for making ventilation holes on roller shutter profiles, the machine comprising: - a punch 10 for making ventilation holes V on a roller shutter profile P along a direction of longitudinal extension X of the profile itself; - two pairs of motorized rollers 21, 22 and 31, 32 arranged upstream and downstream of the punch for moving the profile P in a movement direction M; and - an electronic control unit 60 of the punch adapted to control the punch in making ventilation holes according to a predefined program as a function of the length of the profile fed to the punch and/or as a function of the length of the profile extracted from the punch. The machine 1 comprises a first idle wheel 41 arranged upstream of the punch and a second idle wheel 51 arranged downstream of the punch with respect to the movement direction. Each idle wheel has its own rotation axis parallel to the rotation axis of the motorized rollers and is adapted to contact with its own circumferential profile a longitudinal portion of the profile to be dragged in rotation by the profile itself in its movement through the punch. The machine comprises for each of said idle wheels an encoder 42, 52 that is suitable to detect the angle of rotation of the respective idle wheel and is connected to the electronic control unit 60 to allow the latter to calculate the length of the profile P progressively fed to or progressively extracted from the punch as a function of the rotation angle of the idle wheel (41, 51), progressively detected over time.

    • The present invention relates to a separator, a separator combined or integrated with a collator and a method of such separators, in order to provide segments of collated fasteners. Segments of collated fasteners are mainly used by builders, who are assembling e.g. wooden structures or for mounting purposes, to engage the fasteners by shooting or screwing the fastener into a structure with a pneumatically operated tool such as a nail gun. The separator is adapted for receiving a continuous flow of collated fasteners, wherein the separator comprises—a fastener counter connected to a controller and configured to send a signal to the controller corresponding to at least one fastener having been counted,—a puncher adapted for punching an end section of at least one fastener to separate a segment including a plurality of collated fasteners in a punching direction, and where the controller is configured to timely activate the puncher, when a predetermined number of collated fasteners in the continuous flow have been counted and a corresponding time for the counting of the predetermined number of collated fasteners has been determined.

    • A print to cut register system for establishing and maintaining registration between a pattern on a moving web and a cutting die by controlling the operative condition of a pair of web feed rolls. The print to cut register system incorporates an electric signal means responsive to the output of a registration error detector. The electric signal means, which may include a computing resolver, provides an output signal proportional to the alteration in the web feed rolls necessary to correct the detected registration error. The electric signal means is connected to electromechanical means having a servomotor for converting the output signal of the electric signal means into a corresponding shaft speed and rotary direction signal. The servomotor shaft speed and rotary direction signal is amplified by the torque amplifier and provided through a differential drive means to the feed rolls to correct the registration error.

    • A punching machine comprising a housing, a plunger having a punch at one end, and an electromechanical drive such as a solenoid carried by the housing and operatively connected to the plunger for driving the plunger in a direction along the longitudinal axis thereof when electrically energized to drive the punch into a workpiece and then withdraw the punch therefrom. The plunger is disposed in a housing passage in a manner permitting a degree of rocking movement of the plunger in a plane substantially parallel to the plunger longitudinal axis. A flexible guiding device in the form of a sleeve surrounding the plunger and an O-ring engaging the sleeve and the housing guides the plunger in a direction toward and away from the workpiece and also in the direction of the rocking movement. Electric current is supplied to the electromechanical drive by a circuit including a controlled rectifier connected in controlling relation to the drive and having a gate terminal connected to trigger pulse producing device. The trigger pulse producing device, in turn, is operated by a control circuit in response to control inputs, for example repetitively in response to movement of the machine along the workpiece or, alternatively, singly for only one punching in response to another control input.
