    • The applicator assembly comprises a flexible reservoir, to which are joined a pair of applicators. The latter includes a first and second applicators. The first applicator has its longitudinal axis of symmetry perpendicularly disposed relative to the flexible reservoir, respectively to its longitudinal axis, while the second applicator is coaxial with the flexible reservoir. The first and second applicators are located at opposite ends of the flexible reservoir. An arm connects the first applicator to the flexible reservoir so, as stated before, the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the first applicator is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the flexible reservoir. A pair of protective covers including a first and second protective covers is intended to slip over the pair of applicators, respectively the first and second applicators. A valve is incorporated into the flexible reservoir, so as to resist passage of a fluid contained in the latter, while letting the atmospheric air to infiltrate therein. The method of applying a fluid, using the above described applicator assembly, comprises the following operations: removing one of the pair of protective covers, then squeezing the flexile reservoir to expel a quantity of fluid contained within and simultaneously dispensing the one of the applicators which has its protective cover removed; preventing the exit of fluid from the flexible reservoir during the previous two operations by using said valve, then terminating the above operation of squeezing the flexible reservoir, which takes place simultaneously with an operation of infiltrating of atmospheric air through the valve into the flexible reservoir, and finally replacing the protective cover that was removed in the first operation.

    • A paint roller apparatus with rigid member and brush facilitating the painting of a surface (70) that lies adjacent to another surface that is not to be painted contemporaneously. The apparatus comprises a roller applicator (58), a rigid member (22), a brush (28), and a handle (20). Brush (28) is affixed to rigid member (22), and rigid member (22) is connected to an arm (34) that is rotatably mounted on handle (20). Arm (34) can rotate between a paint loading position and a paint application position. In the paint loading position, arm (34) is rotated away from roller applicator (58) about an axis that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of roller applicator (58). Said roller applicator can then be immersed in paint without getting any paint on rigid member (22). When rigid member (22) is in the paint application position, substantially perpendicular and adjacent to the longitudinal axis of roller applicator (58), said roller applicator may be placed in contact with the surface to be painted (70) and painting may begin. Brush (28) of predetermined size, shape, and stiffness is mounted onto rigid member (22) such that the bristles, or other paint application portion of the brush (28), are at a non-orthogonal angle to the surface to be painted (70) and extend to an edge of the surface to be painted (72), but not onto the adjacent surface (74). In operation, roller applicator (58) applies paint up to a short distance from the edge of the surface to be painted (72) and brush (28) then takes some of the paint on the surface (70) and applies it up to the edge (72).
