    • Proposed is a device for applying a flowable substance comprising an outer shell (14) forming a receptacle for the flowable substance, as well as at least one portionally cylindrical insert (12) assigned to an application tip (22) and open at one end and closed at the other end and its shell featuring at least one orifice (34) connected to the open end. The outer shell (14) is shiftable in relation to the insert (12) between a blocked position in which a fluid flow between the outer shell (14) and the insert (12) is blocked by means of a sealing device and an activated position in which the fluid flow between the outer shell (14) and the insert (12) is released. The insert (12) has a male screw thread (20) mating the outer shell (14), the flowable substance flowing after twisting of the insert (12) in relation to the outer shell (14) and release of the orifice (34) into the insert (12). The outer shell is made, at least portionally, of an elastomeric plastics material. The insert (12) comprises a collar ring acting as a stop for the insert (12) at the outer shell (14) and as an actuator for shifting the outer shell (14) in relation to the insert (12)

    • An applicator device for a free-flowing substance includes a carrier body provided with an application device at one end and a pin at an opposing end. A transverse channel penetrates the pin, and an axial channel branching off from the transverse channel leads to the application device. A reservoir device having a ring-shaped edge seal sealingly engages the pin, whereby the applicator device is activated by displacing the reservoir device on the pin toward the application device to open a flow connection between the reservoir device and the transverse channel. The reservoir device has a receptacle segment that is elastically deformable at least in portions so that, when the applicator device is activated and a flow connection between the transverse channel and the receptacle segment exists, the free-flowing substance is discharged via the application device by manual compression of the elastically deformable area of the receptacle segment.

    • A valve assembly is disclosed which effectively partitions a syringe into proximal and distal chambers to provide a multi-chamber, sequentially dispensing syringe apparatus. The valve assembly may be effectively used with a variety of standard, currently available commercial syringes and pre-filled syringes. Incorporated in the valve assembly is a valved stopper having a valve (which may be a slit valve), an impact sensor which opens the valve upon impact between the valve assembly and internal distal end of the syringe and a gas separator which separates liquid from gas disposed in the proximal chamber to assure gas is not delivered therefrom. The valve assembly is displaced as a plunger of the syringe is displaced via communication through fluid in the proximal chamber of the syringe. The actuator has a latching feature which latches the valve to an open state after being opened by the impact sensor. The gas separator has a proximally disposed orifice which facilitates priming. The valve assembly may be made from two parts. One part, a valved stopper, may be molded from the same rubber based material used in syringe plunger stoppers. The second part, the valve actuator, may be injection molded as a single part. A synthetic resinous material which is compatible with manufacture of living hinges my be used for the second part. Multiple valve assemblies may be used in a single syringe barrel.
