    • A video game system for simulating a golf game displays three-dimensional image information indicative of the terrain profile of a golf course and image information of a golf ball on the display screen of a television monitor. The golf ball is moved on the display screen based on the image information indicative of the terrain profile and a command from a controller operated by the game player. A guide comprising a matrix of lines is displayed on the display screen, and the luminance and length of each of said lines are established based on the image information indicative of the terrain profile. The guide is three-dimensionally displayed over the three-dimensional image information indicative of the terrain profile on said display screen. The three-dimensionally displayed guide allows the game player to visually recognize heights and distances of various areas of the golf course in an intuitive fashion, and hence allows the game player to operate the controller in a manner to match terrain features of the golf course in the game space.

    • An automobile heel stopper shock-absorbing structure is formed from a receiving plate that on the outside has a heel receiving surface and on the inside faces a dash panel with a space therebetween, a front support plate connected integrally to a front end part of the receiving plate and having its extremity joined to the dash panel, and a rear support plate connected integrally to a rear end part of the receiving plate and having its extremity joined to at least one of the dash panel and a floor panel. The rear support plate is made weaker than the receiving plate and the front support plate so that the rear support plate will buckle when a pushing-in load acting on the receiving plate is equal to or greater than a predetermined value. The values of flexural rigidity of the front support plate and the receiving plate are set so that the front support plate falls forward so as to make the receiving plate sink forward when the pushing-in load acting on the receiving plate is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.

    • A method for measuring luminol enhancing light emission without separating leukocytes and erythrocytes, that is, using whole blood and a method for measuring the number of leukocytes trapped by the capillary bed or the time required for leukocytes to pass through the capillary bed to thereby provide an effective index for ability of leukocytes to protect infection and for oxidative stress caused by leukocytes are provided. Specifically, a method is provided for measuring an amount of active oxygen produced by leukocytes and oxidative stress, where the method includes allowing an anticoagulated whole blood sample collected from a human or an animal to pass through a microchannel array including a substrate with a fine channel array arranged on its surface and a transparent substrate which is adhered onto the substrate by contact bonding, and measuring a light emission level from whole leukocytes passing through the microchannel array through the transparent substrate to use the measured light emission level as an index of an amount of active oxygen produced by leukocytes and oxidative stress.
