    • A system reads an information code formed on a medium. The code has light modules and dark modules. The areas of the light modules are produced as inversion areas inverted light reflection characteristics. The areas of the dark module areas are produced as non-inversion areas non-inverting light reflection characteristics. A reader emits illumination light of wavelengths including infrared light wavelengths to the code, and images the code under the illumining light emission. The inversion areas, that is, the light module areas, can be dark under the visible light, but can be a light color due to its inverted light reflection characteristics. The light modules can thus be imaged by the reader under the illumining light emission, providing distinguishable detection of the inversion and non-inversion areas, allowing the light and dark modules to be extracted for decoding.

    • A liquid ejection apparatus includes a liquid ejection head, a conveyor, a recording controller, and a flashing controller. The conveyor conveys a recording medium along a conveyance path. The recording controller causes the conveyor to convey a recording medium, and controls liquid ejection from the liquid ejection head to form an image on the recording medium based on image data. The flashing controller causes the conveyor to temporarily stop conveyance of the recording medium, and causes liquid injection from the liquid ejection head based on drive data which is unrelated to image formation. The flashing controller determines timing for executing a subsequent flashing control on that, within a print enforceable period between one flashing control and the subsequent flashing control, the number of pages subjected to image formation based on image data increases with a decrease in time interval between image formation on one page and on another page.

    • An inkjet recording apparatus may include a flow path unit including a discharge port, an actuator configured to supply discharge energy and non-discharge energy to the ink, a drive controller configured to cause the actuator to supply the discharge energy, and a cap moving unit configured to move a cap between the open position and the covering position. After the supply of the image data is started, the drive controller may cause the actuator to supply the non-discharge energy in both a first period and a second period. The first period begins at starting of the supply of the non-discharge energy. The second period begins at the end of the first period and ends when the supply of the discharge energy is started. A frequency of the supply of the non-discharge energy during the first period is greater than that of the non-discharge energy during the second period.

    • It has been discovered that an initiation reaction is efficiently progressed to a propagation reaction by adding a compound that potentially or directly generates a carbocation to the polymerization system of a cationic ring-opening polymerizable compound, and thus the activation of polymerization is rendered. Namely, the present invention relates to a cationic polymerizable resin composition which is characterized by comprising (A) a compound having at least one functional group capable of cationic ring-opening polymerization in one molecular chain, (B) a cationic polymerization initiator, and (C) a compound to generate a carbocation by the action of active species generated from (B) the cationic polymerization initiator by electromagnetic wave or particle beam. According to the present invention, it has been discovered that the initiation reaction is efficiently progressed to the propagation reaction by adding the compound that potentially or directly generates a carbocation to the polymerization system of the cationic ring-opening polymerizable compound, and thus the activation of polymerization is rendered.
