摘要： There is provided a sheet conveying apparatus which is capable of easily distinguishing between a sheet bundle containing abnormal sheets, such as multi-fed sheets, and a normal sheet bundle. When it is determined that there is no abnormality in the conveyance of sheets to a processing tray 630, a finisher control section 501 causes a bundle of sheets stacked on the processing tray 630 to be discharged onto a stack tray 700, whereas when it is determined that there is abnormality in the conveyance of sheets to the processing tray 630, the finisher control section 501 causes the bundle of the sheets stacked on the processing tray 630 to be discharged onto a sample tray 701.

摘要： A sheet-thickness detector device has a sheet guide with a sheet-guide surface for guiding a sheet between a magnetic field sensor and a magnetic guide element. The magnetic field sensor, having an approach-guide plane disposed upstream in a sheet conveying direction for guiding the sheet to a detection surface, comes into direct contact with the sheet. By the structure mentioned above, the thickness of a sheet is detected so as to determine sheet double feeding and the like without producing sheet jamming.

摘要： A sheet processing apparatus, such as a finisher, to be used in an image forming device, has a sheet conveying device for allowing conveyance and temporary stopping conveyance to place the sheet in a waiting state, a sheet-conveying-condition detector for detecting a conveying condition for each sheet, a first mode of conveying a sheet by driving the sheet conveying device without placing the sheet conveying device in a waiting state, a second mode of conveyance which places the sheet conveying device in the waiting state, thereafter releasing the waiting state of the sheet conveying device in accordance with conveyance of a succeeding sheet, and conveying preceding and succeeding sheets in a superposed state, and a third mode of conveyance, placing the sheet conveying device in the waiting state, thereafter releasing the waiting state of the sheet conveying device, and conveying the preceding sheet separately from the succeeding sheet. A controller switches the sheet conveying device to the third mode when the sheet-conveying-condition detector has detected that a sheet having a different condition is included within a plurality of sheets to be discharged from the sheet conveying device in a superposed state in the second mode.

摘要： A sheet stacking apparatus which is capable of efficiently stacking sheets of various sizes while making efficient use of space therein to realizing compactness of the apparatus. Stacker trays that are driven by respective tray lift motors perform a lifting/lowering operation to have sheets stacked thereon. Selection is made according to the size of sheets between a first stacking mode for stacking sheets having a size not larger than a predetermined size on one of the stacker trays and a second stacking mode for stacking sheets having a size larger than the predetermined size in a state extending on the stacker trays. When it is determined that one of the stacker trays is faulty, execution of the second stacking mode is inhibited, and execution of the first stacking mode using the other stacker tray is permitted.
