摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a thin endless filmm on which is formed a latent electrostatic image, the endless film having heat-resistant and dielectric properties, a transfer mechanism for transferring the endless film, a latent electrostatic image recording head disposed outside the endless film for recording a latent electrostatic image on the endless film, a developing unit disposed outside the endless film for developing the latent electrostatic image on the endless film by placing toner particles in close proximity to or bringing the toner particles into contact with the endless film, a back electrode and a heater disposed inside the endless film, a pressure roller opposed to the heater with respect to the endless film, and a discharge unit disposed outside the endless film for discharging the latent electrostatic image. Alternately, the endless film can be formed by depositing a thin heat-resistant dielectric layer on the surface of a thin, conductive endless film, in which case the back electrode can be omitted.

摘要： An on-demand type ink jet print head having a nozzle plate which is arranged horizontally so that its nozzle openings face upward and cantilevered vibrating members the free ends of which confront the nozzle openings. Ink is held by a capillary force in a gap between the vibrating members and the nozzle plate and is supplied by surface tension in a gap formed between a plurality of members from an ink tank up to the vicinity of the vibrating members. Since the ink is supplied by a capillary force between the ink level in the tank and the vibrating members, the ink supply is stable irrespective of the ink level in the tank. Further, since the ink is ejected in the form of ink droplets produced by a dynamic pressure associated with vibration of the vibrating members within the ink, it is possible to produce fine ink droplets.

摘要： An ink jet printing apparatus in which the ink jet print head is constructed to eliminate problems caused by air bubbles that can be present in fluid hot-melt ink. The apparatus head includes a heater to melt solid ink or lower the viscosity of high viscosity semi-solid ink and a plurality of ink jet nozzles corresponding to a series of piezoelectic vibrating elements that are positioned so that piezoelectric oscillations propel ink through the nozzles. The vibrators and nozzles are spaced so that if air bubbles are present in the melted ink the bubbles will be induced to travel away from the nozzles by piezoelectrically induced agitation so that they do not interfere with ink jet printing. The printer can include a vent hole to provide an exit for the bubbles. The vent hole can be selectively opened and closed.

摘要： An ink tank cartridge for an ink-jet type recording apparatus being removably mounted onto an ink supply needle of a recording body is provided. The ink tank cartridge is provided with a first chamber for storing ink and a second chamber for storing a porous member having ink impregnated therein. The second chamber communicates with the first chamber through a passageway formed within the cartridge between the first and second chambers. An ink supply port extends through and projects from a wall of the second chamber. The ink supply port supplies inks to the ink-jet recording apparatus through said porous member. A funnel-shaped packing member is provided within the ink supply port. The packing member is formed with a hole therethrough having a wide end and a narrow end and is dimensioned to receive the ink supply needle and to resiliently abutt against an outer periphery of the ink supply needle. The packing member is formed for preventing the flow of ink through the ink supply port other than through the ink supply needle when the needle is positioned in the ink supply port. The wide end of the hole is disposed away from the porous member.
