    • A video processor and method for swiftly detecting swaps occurring between links during transmission of images by the dual-link system. A first image combiner unit combines an image D1 of a first link as an odd-numbered image, with an image of a second link, to generate a first combination image. A second image combiner unit combines an image of a second link as an odd-numbered image, with the image of the first link to generate a second combination image. An edge detector unit detects the horizontal edge of the first combination image and the second combination image. A judgment unit compares the number of triple edges in the first combination image and second combination image, and judges the combination image having more triple edges as the error image. The triple edges contain three consecutive edges along the horizontal direction, and the rising edges and falling edges are arrayed alternately.

    • The hologram recording technology expected to realize ultrahigh-density information recording is one of the post Blu-ray Disc technology. When we think about developing a drive based on this technology and suitable for consumer electronics, it is considered most desirable from the viewpoint of upward compatibility to solve the problem of the BD-compatibility. The problem in sharing the laser light source between the hologram recording device and the current optical disc device, however, is that the hologram recording requires a high-coherent, single-mode light beam, while the current optical discs requires a low-coherent, multi-mode light beam. In point of the coherence of the light source, the above two cases require the light beams of the characteristics opposite to each other, and this presents an important task.For the purpose of solving the above-mentioned problem, the present invention is to adopt the variable wavelength type laser light source device composed of a semiconductor laser and a diffraction grating, wherein a polarization direction converter and a polarized beam splitter are placed in the optical path between the above semiconductor laser and the above diffraction grating.

    • The present invention provides a multilayer printed wiring board having a filled viahole structure advantageously usable for forming a fine circuit pattern thereon, and having an excellent resistance against cracking under a thermal shock or due to heat cycle. The multilayer printed wiring board is comprised of conductor circuitry layers and interlaminar insulative resin layers deposited alternately one on another, the interlaminar insulative resin layers each having formed through them holes each filled with a plating layer to form a viahole. The surface of the plating layer exposed out of the hole for the viahole is formed substantially flat and lies at a substantially same level as the surface of the conductor circuit disposed in the interlaminar insulative resin layer. The thickness of the conductor circuitry layer is less than a half of the viahole diameter and less than 25 μm. The inner wall of the hole formed in the interlaminar insulative resin layer is roughened and an electroless plating layer is deposited on the roughened surface. An electroplating layer is filled in the hole including the electroless plating layer to form the viahole. The interlaminar insulative resin layer is formed from a composite of a fluororesin showing a high fracture toughness and a heat-resistant thermoplastic resin, a composite of fluororesin and thermosetting resin or a composite of thermosetting and thermoplastic resins.
