    • An acceleration sensor includes a housing member, a spring member attached to the housing member and provided with freedom in at least one direction of acceleration to be detected, a magnetic field generation member with weight fixed to the spring member, and at least one magnetic field detection sensor attached to the housing member to face the magnetic field generation member with weight. Each magnetic field detection sensor is provided with at least one pair of multi-layered MR elements each including a magnetization fixed layer and a magnetization free layer. A magnetized direction of the magnetization fixed layers is fixed to a direction parallel to the direction of acceleration to be detected. The magnetic field generation member with weight includes at least one permanent magnet that provides a closed magnetic loop. At least one pair of multi-layered MR elements is arranged in the closed magnetic loop to receive magnetic field substantially perpendicular to a lamination plane of the multi-layered MR elements when no acceleration is applied.

    • The present invention provides a compact current sensor capable of measuring a current to be detected with high precision. A current sensor includes: a first magnetoresistive element including a plurality of element patterns which extend in an X axis direction at a first level, are disposed so as to be adjacent to each other in a Y axis direction orthogonal to the X axis direction, and are connected in parallel with each other; and a thin film coil which includes a plurality of winding body portions extending in the X axis direction in correspondence with the element patterns and winds at a second level different from the first level, and applies a current magnetic field to each of the element patterns when a current to be detected is supplied. Therefore, the absolute value of the resistance change amount in the magnetoresistive element increases. While realizing a compact configuration, the current to be detected, flowing in the thin film coil can be measured with high precision.

    • An eddy-current probe according to the present invention comprises: a substrate having a first surface facing to a subject to be tested and a second surface opposite to said first surface; an exciting coil formed on the second surface, having a pair of current lines in parallel with each other through which exciting currents flow in opposite directions to each other during testing, for generating an alternate magnetic field applied to the subject by the exciting currents; and at least one eddy-current sensor positioned on a central axis between the pair of current lines on the second surface of the substrate, for detecting a magnetic field generated newly from the subject by an eddy-current induced by the alternate magnetic field. The substrate has a non-planar form having at least one convex-surface portion on the first surface, and the at least one eddy-current sensor is formed on at least one concave-surface portion formed on the second surface, which is corresponding to the at least one convex-surface portion.

    • A laser cutting apparatus is disclosed which includes a laser emitter capable of outputting a laser beam in pulses, a laser beam irradiation member, and a dental-crown polishing and washing member. The dental-crown polishing and washing member has an injection member through which air, water and polishing material are output toward a laser-beam-irradiated surface. A control member is provided which is capable of controlling the operation of laser emitter and dental-crown polishing and washing member. The laser beam irradiation member and injection member are combined with each other by means of an adapter disposed therebetween, thereby enabling both of laser beam irradiation member and injection member to be held and operated by a single hand. By employing this laser cutting apparatus, a high-energy laser beam can be used in the medical and dental fields for removing soft dentin to form a cavity. This apparatus does not have problems due to irradiation of a high-energy laser beam, such as the production and residue of a carbonized layer in the dentin, formation of a fused layer in the dentin, occurrence of a cavity margin having an irregular configuration, and cracking and damaging of the dental pulp attributed to a temperature rise.
