    • A chip antenna in which desired antenna characteristics can be obtained without restricting the type of at least one of a dielectric material and a magnetic material used for a base member of the antenna, as well as the type of metal material used for a conductor, or without limiting the sintering conditions of the above-described materials. The chip antenna includes a rectangular-prism-shaped base member having a mounting surface. A conductor, e.g. silver, is spirally wound inside the base member. A feeding terminal is formed over surfaces of the base member so as to feed power to the conductor. One end of the conductor is extended to a surface of the base member to form a feeding section, which is connected to the feeding terminal. The other end of the conductor serves as a free end within the base member. The base member is produced by laminating mixture layers made from a mixture of glass essentially consisting of borosilicate having a softening point of approximately 700.degree. C. and ceramic (relative dielectric constant: 60) essentially consisting of barium oxide, neodymium oxide and titanium oxide having a sintering temperature of approximately 1300.degree. C.

    • A matching circuit and an antenna apparatus which, though small-sized, can be used in a radio apparatus which transmits and receives radio waves having a wide range of frequencies. A matching circuit includes an inductance element formed of a chip inductor connected in series with an antenna body, a first capacitance element formed of a trimmer capacitor, and a second capacitance element formed of a chip capacitor, which capacitance elements are connected between respective ends of the inductance element and a ground terminal, and thus in parallel to the antenna body. One end of the inductance element is connected to the power supply terminal of the antenna body, and the other end is connected to a power source for applying a voltage to the antenna body. The first capacitance element is connected between a ground and the connection point of the power supply terminal of the antenna body and the inductance element. The second capacitance element is connected between a ground and the connection point of the inductance element and the power source.

    • A resonator having an improved spurious characteristic is provided. The resonator comprises a dielectric substrate having a plurality of strip lines extending longitudinally from the central portion of the upper surface toward the rear surface of the substrate by turning downward along the shorter side surfaces of the substrate such that the strip lines extending from both sides of the upper surface of the substrate are arranged in an alternative fashion with their narrowed top end portions overlapping each other in spaced apart relationships so as to be electromagnetically coupled. The portion of the dielectric substrate sandwiched between the opposing upper and rear portions of each strip line forms a capacitor. Further, a ground electrode is formed at the center of the rear surface of the substrate so as to be connected to the end portions of the strip lines. Input and an output electrode continuous with some of the strip lines, respectively, are also provided on the rear surface of the substrate.
