    • A pole light system for marine craft, which is easily mounted and dismounted and includes a base receptacle having a keyed socket, and a pole having a light assembly at one end and a plug at the other end which is keyed to be received in the socket, whereby insertion of the pole into the socket is limited to a preselected orientation which will permit the use of wiping, self-cleaning electrical contacts on the pole and receptacle. The light assembly includes a base which is securable to the pole, a planar reflector disposed on the base, a hemispherical Fresnel lens which, together with the reflector, define a volume wherein a light bulb is disposed via a two-part, wire form retainer. The reflector which is generally positioned below the lightbulb, in combination with a hemispherical Fresnel lens, efficiently utilize light emitted from the bulb, so that a lower wattage bulb requiring less energy and producing less heat can be used to achieve a desired illumination in a smaller light assembly.

    • An illuminated control button with an eccentric switch and a button spring configured to substantially balance the mechanical resistance of the switch when the button is depressed. The switch may be a conventional push-button switch having a stem directly contacting a portion of the control button. The button spring may include an integral reflector and may have a rim that defines a surface engaging the button. The control button may include a fixed light source and the reflector may move about the light source when the control button is depressed. The present invention also provides a control button with a light source at least partially contained within an integrating sphere. In one embodiment, the integrating sphere includes a somewhat cup-shaped diffusely reflective surface that cooperates with a diffusely reflective surface on the back surface of the button to substantially evenly distribute light from the light source throughout the integrating sphere.

    • A plastic fluid flow director for a water treatment system is provided having a plastic substrate with a protective coating that is substantially opaque to UV light. The plastic substrate may be ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and the UV opaque coating may be unexpanded polytetrafluoroethylene (“PTFE”). The UV opaque coating protects the plastic substrate from UV light, which may be destructive to the plastic, during the water treatment process. The coating is suitable for water contact, does not break down in the presence of ultraviolet light for extended periods, and otherwise works with conventional water treatment systems. The plastic substrate with UV opaque coating is a suitable replacement for a stainless steel fluid flow director.
