摘要： A method for allocating antenna elements of an antenna array is provided. The antenna array provides radio coverage for UEs operating in a wireless communications network. The antenna array supports at least a first RAT and a second RAT. A first radio coverage requirement of the first RAT and/or a first data traffic load of first UEs using the first RAT, are obtained (301). Further, a second radio coverage requirement of the second RAT and/or a second data traffic load of the second UEs using the second RAT, are obtained (302).
The antenna elements are then allocated (303) between at least the first RAT and the second RAT, by assigning for the first RAT a number of first sections of antenna elements, and assigning for the second RAT a number of second sections of antenna elements. The assigning is performed by interleaving the one or more first section/s of antenna elements assigned for the first RAT with the second sections of antenna elements assigned for the second RAT. The first sizes of the assigned first sections and second sizes of the assigned second sections are based on the obtained first radio coverage requirement and the first data traffic load, and the obtained second radio coverage requirement and the second data traffic load.

摘要： A network node determines a system load of the network node for the UE. When the UE is capable of receiving control information on EPDCCH, the system load is determined based on a first and a second system load metrics on a physical resource shared by PDSCH and EPDCCH, which first load metrics comprises a load due to EPDCCH and a load due to multiplexed PDSCH and which second load metrics comprises a load due to multiplexed EPDCCH and a load due to PDSCH. When the UE is not capable of receiving control information on EPDCCH, the system load is determined based on the first system load metrics on the physical resource shared by the PDSCH and EPDCCH and a third system load metrics on a physical resource for carrying PDCCH. The network node further determines whether or not to allocate resources to the UE based on the determined system load metrics.

摘要： A modified token bucket algorithm (100) in a rate shaping function (20) of a wireless communication network allows for the "borrowing'1 of tokens, creating the possibility of a token debt, or a token bucket with a negative Token Bucket Counter (TBC) value. In this modified algorithm, an incoming packet is passed along (112) so long as the TBC is positive (108), even if the packet must "borrow" some tokens, driving the TBC negative. Subsequent incoming packets are stalled (110) until the TBC reaches a positive value (108). In one embodiment, the modified token bucket algorithm (100) is not applied to a separate rate shaper, but rather to a queue size limiter (26) that operates with a scheduler (24) on a single queue (22). The inventive scheduler (24) and queue size limiter (26) deliver fewer, larger packets for transmission, allowing for more efficient packing within transmission frames (reducing or eliminating required padding), and allowing other traffic to be scheduled, thus increasing system throughput.
