摘要： An optimum driving method is realized in a miniaturized liquid crystal display device having two liquid crystal display panels so as to low power consumption. The liquid crystal display device includes a first liquid crystal display panel, a second liquid crystal display panel, a drive circuit which is mounted on the first liquid crystal display panel, output terminals which are formed on the first liquid crystal display panel and to which signals outputted from the drive circuit are supplied, and connection lines which connect the output terminals and the second liquid crystal display panel, wherein the drive circuit can change the AC driving method employed during a display period of the first liquid crystal display panel and the AC driving method employed during a display period of the second liquid crystal display panel which are present within the same frame.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device capable of improving display quality by enabling proper execution of receipt and acceptance of image signals through compensation for variation in duty ratios of clock signals as input to liquid crystal driver circuitry, is provided. In a liquid crystal display device comprising a liquid crystal display element and liquid crystal driver circuitry, the liquid crystal driver circuitry is operable to receive an image signal as input thereto for taking it into a bus at the timing of a change of an internal clock signal from a first level to a second level or alternatively its change from the second level to the first level and then select from the image signal as taken or “accepted” into the bus a voltage used to drive the liquid crystal display element, wherein the internal clock signal is the clock signal that causes a first level period and a second level period of an external clock signal being input to the liquid crystal driver circuitry to be made identical or equalized by a clock compensation circuit to specified values respectively.

The display device also includes data lines connected to the corresponding pixel circuits, a plurality of gate lines connected to the corresponding pixel circuits, gate circuits each of which sequentially outputs a gate signal, which is in a high voltage level during two or more horizontal periods in a first order or in a second order that is reverse to the first order, and a gate signal control circuit that controls each of the gate circuits and scans the gate lines. The gate signal control circuit controls each of the gate circuits to start to output the gate signals so as not to overlap periods when the gate signals are output to the adjacent gate lines.

摘要： A bidirectional shift register outputs pulses from a plurality of cascaded unit register circuits in a shift order which is one of a forward direction and a reverse direction. A λth stage of unit register circuit (38) has two set terminals connected to respective outputs of (λ−1)th and (λ+1)th stages and two reset terminals connected to respective outputs of (λ+2)th and (λ−2)th stages. The unit register circuit (38) sets, when a pulse is input to any one of the set terminals, a reference point N1 to an H level, and, when a pulse is input to any one of the reset terminals, N1 to an L level. The order of phase change of clock signals is reversed according to the direction of a shift, and whether a start trigger signal is applied to a top stage or a bottom stage is switched.
