In this case, the body part 6 is taken as earth electric potential, and the electron gun part 1 and the collector part 13 are insulated from the body part 6 and used on high electric potential.

    • PURPOSE:To drastically increase the current density of ion and minimize the size of whole components including a neutralizing cell by bending the ion beams extracted out of a plurality of ion sources to the same direction and injecting in an acceleration part. CONSTITUTION:Ion beams extracted out of a plurality of ion sources 1 are bended to the same direction with a magnetic field formed by a toroidal coil 2 and injected in an acceleration part 3. The injected ion beams overlap and accelerate each other and therefore, the current density introduced into a neutralizing cell 4 can be drastically increased. Resultingly, the inlet area of the neutralizing cell 4 can be reduced, the length of the neutralizing cell 4 can be shortened, and the whole components can be small-sized. Instead of the toroidal coil, a toroidal coil shape magneic field can be formed with electromagnets or parmanent magnets.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a quench of a superconducting coil with stability and high reliability without undergoing electromagnetic disturbance. This apparatus comprises a plurality of flowmeters 8a, 8b which detect the flow rate of liquid helium supplied from the liquid helium supplier 6 to the forcedly cooled superconducting coils 3a, 3b, a differential detector 10 which outputs action command upon entry of output signals of these flowmeters to detect a differential of the output signal, and a protective interlocking device 11 which controls the power source circuit upon entry of action command from this differential detector 10 to cut off the electrifying path of the forcedly cooled superconducting coils 3a, 3b and consumes energy generated by the forcedly cooled superconducting coils by means of the resistor.

    • PURPOSE:To make it needless to specially supply a control power from outside and to make a transformer for power supply unnecessary by using light energy and energy obtained from a DC power source as the energy in a commutation circuit. When a second optical element 9 is ignited with the light energy, the energy stored in the energy accumulation means 6 flows to the first optical element 5 as an opposite direction current so as to break the first optical element 5 and the power supply from the DC power source 1 to the load 12 are broken. Thus, it is not needless to supply the control power and the transformer is not needed, so that the stray electrostatic capacity is reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize a surge energy absorbing element, by a method wherein a core of the surge energy absorbing element is constituted to interlink with only an output path of a source plasma power source and not with a high voltage output path of an acceleration power source. CONSTITUTION: A DC high voltage power source unit supplies power to an ion source 1 as load, and converts AC voltage into DC voltage through a transformer 3 and an acceleration power source 2 and supplies the DC voltage to an acceleration electrode 1b through a DC high voltage cable 5. A deceleration power source 7 is connected to the electrode 1b, and a source plasma power source 8 is connected to a filament 1c through a surge energy absorbing element 10. In this case, the absorbing element 10 is made not to interlink with high voltage side of the DC high voltage cable 5, and a surge suppressing element 6 in parallel circuit of a resistor and a reactor is connected to side of the ion source 1 of the cable 5. Thus discharge current from capacitance can be suppressed to small value.
