    • A method, a computer program product and a network access node that operate to receive a message from a mobile relay node, the message including a request to add a particular paging group (PG) identification to a list of paging group identifications transmitted by the network access node; to contact a network backbone node to request permission to add the particular paging group identification to the list of paging group identifications transmitted by the network access node; and upon being granted permission, to add the particular paging group identification to the list of paging group identifications transmitted by the network node. The exemplary embodiments of this invention pertain also to the relay node and to the network backbone node. Through the use of the exemplary embodiments idle state user nodes that are attached to the mobile relay node do not see a change in the PG, since the particular PG is maintained by the mobile relay node and, therefore, the user nodes do not initiate a Location Update (LU) procedure when the relay node enters a new PG. Instead, only the mobile relay node performs the LU procedure with the network access node.

    • A method of deliveries data and to a mobile node for receiving data delivered from a packet-switched data network. A first registration of the mobile node is performed to a first network of a first access technology, and an additional second registration of the mobile node is performed to a second network of a second access technology by using an address associated with the mobile node in said first network. An interface of the mobile node towards the second network is deactivated and the mobile node is set into an idle mode of the first network. When an incoming signaling of the first network is received at the mobile node, it is used as a trigger for activating the interface to the second network. Thereby, efficient data delivery via the second access technology, for example, WLAN technology, is allowed to bring down the communications charges and yet cellular efficient power consumption is achieved in idle mode, by camping on the first access technology, for example, cellular technology.

    • A mobile station (100) and a compression/decompression node in a wireless network (5), preferably the GGSN 30 (30), agree on whether to apply compression/decompression, and what compression/decompression scheme to use either by pre-configuration (when the GGSN 30 is in the home network of the mobile terminal) or by signalling (when the GGSN 30 is in a visited or a roamed-to network). Additional information, such as a profile-specific dictionary, may be used to increase the compression efficiency, particularly during start-up. Dynamic data can also be accommodated. The compression/decompression may be turned on and off on a packet-by-packet basis, depending on whether the compression actually results in a smaller packet. A compressed/uncompressed indicator bit or bits can be inserted explicitly on a per packet basis, and/or the compressed/uncompressed indication can be derived implicitly. A desired data compression/decompression algorithm, or any desired Proprietary Feature, can be signaled, possible without requiring standardization changes, by using a Packet Data Protocol PDP Context Activation message with a predetermined Access Point Name (APN) message information element that is sent from a first network element to a second network element for at least identifying the desired compression/decompression algorithm. It another embodiment, for the case where Proprietary Feature capability is exchanged between a RAN and a UE network element, a transmission of an extension to a UE Capability Enquiry message is sent to the UE for identifying the Proprietary Feature.
