    • An angular velocity sensor with improved detection chacteristics using a tuning fork vibrator made of a single crystalline piezoelectric material such as quartz. The turning fork vibrator includes two vibrators bonded together to provide an integral structure so that the vibrators by their respective crystal axis directions generate a piezoelectric phenomena in inverse polarities in their width directions. The tuning fork vibrator has two tuning fork arms and a tuning fork base. Two detection electrodes are respectively disposed on outer faces of the two tuning fork arms. And two other detection electrodes are respectively disposed on inner faces of the two tuning fork arms. Two drive electrodes are respectively disposed on the two tunings fork arms. The two detection electrodes disposed on the outer faces of the two tuning fork arms are commonly connected, and the two detection electrodes disposed on the inner faces of the two tuning fork arms are commonly connected for canceling capacitive coupling from drive section to detecting section.

    • An angular rate sensor is capable of restraining an output voltage of the sensor from being offset by suppressing a current flowing in and out of a common terminal so as to prevent it from flowing in and out of a side of a reference voltage generator. The angular rate sensor is provided with a buffer between a reference voltage generator and a support pin, which serves as a common terminal for a vibration exciter, a detector for detecting a level of vibrations, and a detector for detecting a Coriolis' force. A current flowing in and out of the support pin is prevented from flowing in and out of a side of the reference voltage generator.

    • An acceleration sensor includes first and second opposed electrode units. The first opposed electrode unit includes a first electrode and a second electrode spaced away from and facing the first electrode, and provides a first capacitance. The second opposed electrode unit includes a third electrode and a fourth electrode spaced away from and facing the third electrode, and provides a second capacitance. The first and third electrodes are arranged along a first direction. A component of acceleration along the first direction applied to the object is detected based on the first and second capacitances. A control voltage is applied to the first and second opposed electrode units. The control voltage is changed when both of the first capacitance and the second capacitance simultaneously increase or decrease. This acceleration sensor detects the acceleration accurately.

This acceleration sensor can have a small size.
