    • Provided is a radio communication system using a relay transmission technique capable of optimizing use of radio resources in a radio base station and preventing reduction in capacity of the whole system. The relay frequency allocation method of the present invention has the steps of: radio base stations (10a) and (10b) transmitting downlink data to a relay station (30) using respective backhaul links established between the relay station (30) and the radio base stations (10a) and (10b); and the relay station (30) transmitting the downlink data received from the radio base stations (10a) and (10b), to a relay terminal (20b) by using an access link established between the relay station (30) and the relay terminal (20b).

    • To provide a cell selecting method in which an optimal cell can be selected in the case of relay transmission. The cell selecting method includes: in a radio base station apparatus, determining a specified sub-frame including data for measuring reception quality in a mobile terminal device; and in a mobile terminal device, measuring first reception quality using a reference signal of the specified sub-frame transmitted from the radio base station apparatus and second reception quality using a reference signal of the specified sub-frame transmitted from the radio base station apparatus through a radio relay station apparatus, and transmitting the first reception quality and the second reception quality to the radio base station apparatus; and in the radio base station apparatus, selecting a cell to which the mobile terminal device is connected using the first reception quality and the second reception quality, and transmitting information on the selected cell to the mobile terminal device.

    • The present invention is designed to apply CoMP transmission/reception flexibly in a system band that is formed with a plurality of fundamental frequency blocks, improve received quality in user terminals, and also widen the system band. A first radio base station apparatus (20A) that transmits downlink data to a user terminal (10) using a plurality of cells that respectively correspond to fundamental frequency blocks of varying frequency bands, and a second radio base station apparatus (20B) that transmits downlink data to the user terminal (10) using a cell that corresponds to fundamental frequency block of the same frequency band as one of a plurality of cells are provided, and the first radio base station apparatus (20A) and the second radio base station apparatus (20B) perform coordinated multiple-point transmission for the user terminal 10 between cells corresponding to the same fundamental frequency block, and also report information about the combination of cells that perform the coordinated multiple-point transmission to the user terminal (10).
