    • A computing program and apparatus for controlling computing resources, and a distributed processing system, which realize determining a computing node to be allocated to a computing task, with taking a time required for changing the state of running software into consideration. A node information acquisition unit continuously acquires and stores environment information indicating running software from computing nodes in a node information memory. A request acceptor accepts a computing request including environment condition information specifying software necessary for execution of a computing task. A node selector compares the environment information of each computing node with the environment condition information to preferentially select a computing node that requires the least software to start, as a commuting node to be allocated. A node controller controls the selected computing node to start the necessary software and then execute the computing task.

    • In a search method, integration metadata is newly introduced in which structure data defining an output structure of a query result, a correspondence relation between elements in the structure data and elements in databases, an association of elements between the databases and a bi-directional conversion function applied to said association of said elements between said databases or a specific element of said databases are defined. And, this search method includes: accepting a query of integrated data reference for a plurality of databases; extracting a value of an element in database, which corresponds to the top-level element in a structure identified from the integration metadata in a integration metadata storage by upwardly tracing the structure based on the query; extracting a value of each element in each database by downwardly tracing the structure based on a value of an element in the database, which corresponding to the top-level element in the structure; and outputting the extracted value of each element in each database according to data stored in the integration metadata storage.

    • An ink jet head is provided having ink chambers, energy-generating elements provided in the ink chambers, respectively, and ink outlet ports communicating with the ink chambers, respectively. The ink jet head may be left unused for a time longer than a predetermined time, with a meniscus formed in each ink outlet port. In this case, a drive pulse is applied to each energy-generating element several times, thereby forcing the ink outwards from the ink outlet ports and increasing a surface area of the ink from a surface area of the meniscus. Then, a negative pressure is applied in each ink chamber, thereby drawing the ink back toward the ink chambers, thus forming a meniscus again in the ink outlet ports. In this condition, a drive pulse is applied to the energy-generating elements, thus ejecting an ink droplet from the ink outlet ports to record data.
