    • PURPOSE: To remedy a relative dislocation between housing sections along a direction across the fitting direction thereof. CONSTITUTION: When both housing sections 10 and 20 are fitted to each other, a tip end of a hood section 12 is first fitted to a leading fitting section 34 of a rubber ring 30. As a result, the dislocation of centers Pf and Pm between both male and female terminal fittings 11 and 22 are remedied via the elastic restoring force of the section 34. Then, the occurrence of misalignment between both housing sections 10 and 20 is restricted, due to the fittings 11 and 22 in a fitted state. Thus, the fitting of the sections 10 and 20 develops with a rubber ring 30 evenly deflected elastically. In the complete state of the fitting, the elastic deflection of the ring 30 becomes uniform. Thus, no section has a a drop in sealing strength, due to small elastic deflection, and a high waterproofing function can be exhibited.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide terminal fittings equipped with an engagement section which can secure sufficient engagement power with a resin lance even if the terminal fittings are miniaturized. SOLUTION: An engagement section 14 to be locked with a connector 3 is arranged at a connection section 5 of the terminal fittings 1. As this engagement section 14 is arranged projecting from an upper wall section 12 (a peripheral part of the engagement section 14) with some level difference, a big engagement margin with the resin lance 13 is secured. As the outer side edge section 14A of the engagement section 14 is positioned nearer to the direction of the resin lance 13 than the inner edge section 14B, then tip of the resin lance 13 receives moving force toward the inner edge section 14B from the outer edge section 14A of the engagement section 14 when the terminal fittings 1 is pulled backward (direction of coming off). Therefore, the terminal fittings 1 and the resin lance 13 become less easier to come off and it becomes easier to secure a big engaging power.
