摘要： Described herein are methods and devices that utilize electrical neural stimulation to treat heart failure by modulating a patient's autonomic balance in a manner that inhibits sympathetic activity and/or augments parasympathetic activity. Because other therapies for treating heart failure may also affect a patient's autonomic balance, a device for delivering neural stimulation is configured to appropriately titrate such therapy in either an open-loop or closed-loop fashion.

The system and method allow a potential user to opt in to receive the text messages the user wants to receive. The potential user can opt in through a computer network based web page. Once the potential user sends a sign up request application to participate via the computer network, the user will receive a first text message containing an authorization code on their cell phone. The user enters the authorization code into the web page and sends the authorization code. Receipt of the authorization code back through the computer network will trigger the phone number of the potential user to be added to a list of authorized text message receivers. A narrowcaster then instructs the central computer to narrowcast text messages to the phone numbers on the list that have indicated they want to receive messages on a certain topic.

摘要： Cardiac monitoring and/or stimulation methods and systems provide monitoring, defibrillation and/or pacing therapies. A signal processor receives a plurality of composite signals associated with a plurality of sources, separates a signal using a source separation algorithm, and identifies a cardiac signal using a selected vector. The signal processor may iteratively separate signals from the plurality of composite signals until the cardiac signal is identified. The selected vector may be updated if desired or necessary. A method of signal separation involves detecting a plurality of composite signals at a plurality of locations, separating a signal using source separation, and selecting a vector that provides a cardiac signal. The separation may include a principal component analysis and/or an independent component analysis. Vectors may be selected and updated based on changes of position and/or orientation of implanted components and changes in patient parameters such as patient condition, cardiac signal-to-noise ratio, and disease progression.

摘要： A system and method for corroborating transitory changes in wellness status against a patient population through remote patient care is provided. A population that includes patients under remote patient care is managed. Physiometry for each patient over corresponding temporal periods is regularly obtained and contains recorded physiological measures. A wellness status for each patient is determined. The physiometry is evaluated against historical data maintained for the patient over a predetermined temporal period. Each difference in the physiometry and the historical data that exceeds a testing metric is flagged as a transitory change. Profiles of the patients in the population, which are similar, for those patients presenting corresponding transitory changes are correlated. A cumulative transitory change for the correlated patients is generated. The transitory change of each patient is corroborated against the cumulative transitory change to determine one of a match and deviation in wellness statuses.
