    • The invention relates to a heating device (40) for a sensor element (10) of a gas sensor, which is used particularly for analyzing the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines. Said heating device (40) comprises a heating element (43) which is provided with an electrically resistant layer and is electrically insulated from at least one solid electrolyte layer (23, 24) by means of a layer containing barium and/or strontium and/or calcium, wherefore the heating element (43) is embedded in a first insulating means (41) which is bordered by a second insulating means (42). The first insulating means (41) is provided with a higher proportion (in percent by weight) of barium and/or strontium and/or calcium than the second insulating means (42).
