    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element for display which prevents the occurrence of moire. SOLUTION: The optical element for display having a plurality of pixels is provided with: walls which are arranged on the surface on an observer side of the optical element for display and are not parallel to the surface on the observer side of the optical element for display; and a diffusion plate which is arranged on the side closer from the observer side than the walls. The walls are constituted of a material which does not transmit light or reflects the light. Also, the walls are arranged perpendicularly to the surface of the optical element for display and in addition, and also are arranged at the boundaries of all the pixels including red, green, and blue subpixels of the optical element for display. Also, the diffusion plate is set at the diffusion degree at which the observer cannot recognize the structures existing in the inner part of the diffusion plate when viewed from the observer and between the walls. The diffusion plate is arranged at an interval where the observer cannot recognize the thickness of the walls such that the walls come into contact with the diffusion plate. The plurality of areas of the optical member emit light made incident from the display surface arranged at the position being the closest to the observers in respectively different directions.
