In the method, an apparatus (UE) is arranged to monitor (3-2) a set component carrier signals (3-1) transmitted from a network element (eNB) to the apparatus (UE). On the basis of said monitoring, the apparatus obtains (3-2) channel quality information regarding the set of component carriers. On the basis of the channel quality information, the best component carrier signal is identified (3-2) for the apparatus (UE). Information on the identification and the channel quality of the best component carrier is then provided (3-3) to the network element (eNB).
